http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/afp/070716/entertainment/us_britain_people_fbl Here are a few quotes from the news clip "The New York Post gave the show a damning zero-star review, slamming the pop-star turned fashion figure as "relentlessly self-promoting" with "vapid, condescending behavior" in a show described as "an orgy of self-indulgence."" "You'll sit there slack-jawed at the gall of these people who think we are that stupid," the Post's reviewer wrote in a scathing broadside, also laying into the couple's "nightmarishly overdone rococo mansion" in Beverly Hills. "She does appear to be pleasant and not without a sense of humor. But that isn't quite enough to carry viewers through an hour of house hunting, sunbathing and applying for a driver's license," the paper's reviewer said. the thing that I really cant stand after reading this article is that they dont like her, but Paris Hilton is still allowed on tv!!!! this one for example: "You'll sit there slack-jawed at the gall of these people who think we are that stupid,". Um, you are the same people who made paris famous after she put out a home made porn flick. I dont think you are stupid, I know you are.
That's pretty harsh Her and ol' Dave aren't the brightest in the world but they're actually pretty funny to watch when they're on TV
Nah, plus they have more than their fair share of useless annoying whining celebrities, she can't be worse than most of the tbh
Yeah I notice Paris Hilton doesn't get reviews like this, at least none I've seen. Granted my entire celebrity news knowledge is provided by this forum.
LOL, Quoted for truth. In my opinion almost the entire "entertainment news" (an oxymoron) industry is:
I saw about a half-hour of the show and I have to say that the review are kinda right, she is pretty dumb
Cripes, no wonder I don't know who she is....TV sure is hurting bad when a member from a terrible band that no longer exists gets her own TV show. In the US, the Spice Girls were not very well recieved and we aren't all that crazy about soccer either. No wonder the show is a flop.
Christ, people dont know who victoria and david beckham are?! There the celebrity marriage thats lasted Neither of them seem particularly bad people, just your run of the mill celebrities.
Sorry to dump our baggage on your doorstep. You can blame LA Galaxy (soccer team) for bringing them on to US soil. Speak clearly and slowly to them and I'm sure you'll get on fine.
Well she did have a succes here with the spice girl and Beckham is famous here. What is the excuse for paris hilton?
I don't know how to put this to you while cushioning the shock, so I'll just come out and say it: the Spice Girls are getting back together. You may want to go and sit in the corner for a while... As far as I'm concerned, good riddance to the both of them: David Beckham is a hasbeen footballer who is famous for missing free kicks and only scoring during televised matches; Victoria Beckham is an anorexic hasbeen pop star. For some reason, Victoria Beckham seems to think that she's some kind of glamour model, despite the fact that size 00 clothes would look too big on her. The tabloid press treat them like royalty, and I think they believe that they really are important. Ideas and behaviour waaay above their station. I have this message to pass on to the residents of LA: You're welcome to them, just don't send them back to us when you've grown bored with them...
Sadly, given the fact that her failed first attempt at television stardom was considered newsworthy, I'm thinking that Hollywood will never really tire of them. There are 3 things that the "Entertainment" crowd love: Themselves, Money, Watching other Hollywood types fall. Consider the fact that actual political issues really are too intellectual for the average person; Recently, I've seen more headlines talking about which candidate has raised the most money, rather than what the candidates actually think. Nobody really cares who she is or what she's done. People just want to: A) See themselves on TV; B) Live vicariously by watching rich folks run about; C) Tune in so they can make fun of the has-been celebrity. Especially now that the critics have panned it, they've actually guaranteed that people will tune in. Curiously, I wonder how many of these same critics lauded the Spice Girls when they were popular? Girl Power caught on for a brief time here in the States, and everyone raved about them. On a related note, I'd bet my left foot that a lot of her "reality" show is actually scripted. -monkey
ew ew! Take her back! Oh wait, how about a trade? We get Victoria whatsherface and you can take Paris Hilton.
