this is such a good project how will you paint it as i belive that you would feel that it is made from wood and is it heavy?

FINALLY AN UPDATE!!!
I was looking at the pictures and it looked to me as if your SB WB the hose could interfere with the PCI-E slot.
Just a heads up on what i saw.
Looks awesome though. keep the updates rolling.

@ C-Sniper : The tubes from the sb wb won't intersect with the GPUs, I've already checked that.

UPDATE 10

Today I screw the top part to the case,
I'll let the photos talk for them selfs.











I'm sorry it was a very small update but it's still something.

I don't want to be nitpicky, but you should really bondo those imperfections on the top of the case in the ridges. Looks like where the mill bit (or router bit) slipped. And some of your fan holes aren't quite round, sand the inside of em good. but besides those small things, looks great! damn nice sketch-up work.

 

Update 11

Hi all.


UPDATE 11

Today I assebled the second side panel to the case,

First I rebuild the panel because I made some wrong mesurments on the first, I used my router.
then I drilled some holes for the window:



The corner went round and I don't know if I should let them be that way or if I should make them square:



Then I fastend some of thoes things on the back side in the corners :








After that I put the side window in place to see how it fits :





I still have to do the 45° cut in the upper right corner.
then I screwed the panel to the case :



After that I applied some bondo to hide the screws :



The screws are 7mm to long, I'll have to cut them.
I repaired the U thing at the back of the case:

I just can't help thinking this case is going to get ruined by a mere chip on the wood. :/ Have you thought about fibreglassing it?

 

Fiberglass or no this is one sweet mod.

 

I do agree with Supra55 - it is indeed one sweet mod..

but one thing popped into my mind? How do you access the hardware? Thru the side panel, as in unscrewing the window? Oh -talking about window - have you considered countersinking the attachment thingy on the inside? - might not be so easy now, having bondo'ed the screws...

Never the less - cool design and very nice work. I'm looking forward to next update.

Hi again and thanks for all the comments !!

@ DragonONE : I just have to unscrew the screw to access it, the attachment things can't be seen from the outside so there's no need to countersinking them.

@ Duste : sry but i don't realy understand what u mean with "mere chip on the wood" ? and I don't think I'll need to fiberglass it.

@ C:\Joshy : the holes are for RCA connetors, I ordered them for 2 weeks ago but haven't recieved anything


UPDATE 12

Today I have started the Phase 2 and paused the Phase 1for some days, I'll restart working on it when I'll recieve some stuffs ( RCA, XLR, ... ).

So, I went to a local store to buy some MDF (a lot) to start on the seconde phase :




To do this :




I just put it together to see how it looks :



Then I made the bottom and the upper part :





after that I made the 45° cut on the front :



just a pic to show how the rca looks like (I had one from one of my previous mod) :



Than I put it together with some duck tape and put it under the rest of the case :





I made the last side panel for the upper case :




That's all for to day, but I'll be working on it on saturday for a big update !!

isnt that system gonna get really hot inside the wood?
isnt it bad for ventillation?

 

the material shouldnt effect the ventilation its more whether he has enough intakes and exhaust for the system and judging by the look of his sketchup it shouldnt have 2 many problems.
