I'd do it by hand rather than with a dremel to be honest.

If polishing is unsatisfactory, maybe you could carefully use sandpaper to get a brushed look. At least then its fashionably scratched, and that would be more resilient than re polishing it.

get a soft cloth and some metal polish. Lots of rubbing. Use que tips. Dremel won't help to much IMO

looks to me that there will need to be alot of dry then wet fine sanding before any polishing begins to remove all of the scratches - they seem too deep for polish to remove.

One problem is gonna be all the metal particles collecting in each joint of the wristband, so i'd wash/clean the band very often while polishing, using something like metho - you'd want to re-lube the band with something like wd-40 once it's all done, as all the washing with metho will remove any grease from the joints.

i'm no expert btw, just my 2-cents.. oh, i reckon a full weekend might be enough to get it all done, maybe more.... tempting to just buy a replacement wristband....

That's a Seiko 5, the cheapest Seiko Automatic on the market.. And one of the cheapest Automatic watches on the market. Even an Nvidia 8400GS is more costly than the watch. It's likely that you can get a replacement strap for the watch for less than US$20. If you want to try restoring it, you'd have to try Autosol or Brasso.

You may want to take the links apart if you can so you can polish in between them, that way you can get the curved edge of each link too which might be hard if you are just polishing without taking the band apart. If its easy enough to take apart I would do it.

If/when you get those scratches out CK, I think you should invest in Wristwatch Protection of some sort [IMG]

andyl33t says he got it out with polish, so try some metal polish or brasso and see how that goes!
