RB6 is a control pin for the LCD.....:eyebrow:
RB7 is already tied to the backlight with Q1 and R2 (See first page, first post)

To get the image to size correct was easier said than done. Whenever I saved the image in the correct dpi, it reverted back to the old dpi. :eyebrow: I solved this by changing the format to .png :dremel:

    Hi all,

I'm going to be making this project, it looks simple enough for my first kind of project like this. First off could I get a list of parts from either Latvian3Dman, or Wayneeboy.

Both are a great reduced version of the original project, no offence ch424 you did an awesome job puttin this all together, but i have no use for a buzzer or rotary switch. :)

Also, Since im using Vista 64bit, would I be better off with the HID model, or the other which emulates a serial port. Or does the vista 64 driver that was posted before work fine with the serial port interface, I'm not familiar with hacking the software to do the serial port emulation.

Finally, I dont have a programmer, could someone link me to a place to buy one on the cheep (US$30 or less) or a great diagram to make one myself.

    Many thanks guys

    Thanks

I might go with building a JDM programmer, as I'll only be programming one PIC, and I dont think I'll be repeating doing this again.

Also, Wayneeboy, would it be possible to get a component list for the PCB you have posted above? I think im going to use your re-design

    Thankyou

not sure whats the go with up-files sending me to freindlyfiles. but there was some reports of there download software being spyware.
a quick search found this url on how to download the file without loading there software.
    http://visualguides.nfshost.com/you-cannot-use-friendlyfilesnet-with-firefox/

i couldnt do a "viewsource" in IE so i saved the HTML page and then did a search in the file. found lcd.rar easy enough.

any chance of me hosting the file for ya?

I am the one who wrote the article Scorpia was referring to, and you cannot post the direct link as it is dynamically generated for your ip address when you open the page. You must post the normal link and have each person view the source of the page every time they want to download.

Hi all, I've been following this thread for a while now. I'm really interested with latvian3dman circuit because it's so compact and really neat. for Latvian3dMan, can I get the picture of the circuit so I can follow your design? And with its part list of course ;) It's still using ch424's firmware isn't it?

Im wondering what i did wrong, this is my first project ever so go easy on me :)

In the second last picture, i bridged the connectors by soldering a piece of wire to each then to the point.

as far as i know you cant use the art2003 programmer because it ties up one of the pins the software needs to run the LCD.

will have to get a different programmer.
