Hey, thank you very much. The plexi comes on and off using allen cap screws. This way I can remove any panel without any hasles

just been looking through the whole thread, i cant see how you mounted your psu, it it directly to the Plexi, looks like there is 4 bolts on the back, or is it attached to the frame?

 

The psu sits snugly in the frame and I have only 2 screws that attach it to the pleci for a bit of support. It doesnt sound like much, but it wont go anywehere

 

good stuff, have to think about that for my case

 

i didnt see it mentioned... (though i could be wrong)... but whats the thickness of the acrylic?

Hey Teyber. No my friend, its been very quiet with the case lately. I still need to sort out the cabling mess on the inside. But, I have to say, so far, everything has been running extremely smooth with the case, no problems at all

 

thanks.. i ask because i discovered bit-tech maybe a month ago.. and seeing all the mods in the modding section made me wanna make a case.. but not just mod an existing on.. then a few days ago i realized there were mods in the forums too ... crazy thing is.. this is almost the exact same thing i was planning.. and i didnt even see this til thursday.. strange...

The best advice I can give you is to spend a lot of time planning every single thing you want to do. Make sketches, ensure that everything will fit and that your case will meet your specific needs.

did u ever check the thickness of the plexi?
also.. what did you use to cut it? ive heard mixed things about what to use

 

Yeah, its 3mm.

I used a jigsaw to cut the plexi. But leave about a 1mm on the sides, cause you gonna have to do a lot of sanding. Start with a very very rough paper and work your way to a very smooth one. I used 80 (dry), 220 (wet), 800 (wet), 1500 (wet), 2000 (wet).

Cut slowly to avoid cracking the edges!

 

Sorry if you've mentioned this in previous posts but how many TPI do the blades you use to cut the acrylic have?

 

Hey. Not sure... but I used a generic cutting blade with the teeth facing downwards.

 

I use metal cutting blades for acrylic (maybe 14 TPI). Mark everything out first; then cut as close to the lines as possible; then just sand smooth.

yeah slow and steady cutting speed is best.

and to get a nice shine on the edges I hit them with novus #2 and a cloth buffing wheel after the wet sanding.
