Scratch Build – In Progress Project: Totally Twisted (with homemade radiator & reservoir)

I saw all this great mods on this site and I thought, I want one of those.
So I asked God to make me a design of a great mod, and he said:'Do it yourself.'
I started thinking and experimenting and at last, I've made this design made of pine wood with a lot of tubes for cooling:

When I had this design, I asked God to make me this mod. And he said:'Do it yourself.'
So I started working day and night on this thing and at last I had a front and a rear and a weird thing for containing the tubes:



Then I was tired and I decided to buy some little elves to make the rest and they started making a removable side with on the back iron tape so it can be hold on its place with magnets:




And we put it all together (big steel pipe will contain radiator):


We worked some more and we got this:



I was very happy with it so we started with the tube that will contain the HD
At the top and bottom a 92mm fan:



Here you see it placed into the mod( you also see a temporarily psu):


Then I started working on the tubing and this is a result:

In the mean time, my litle elves made a reservoir in the style of the mod:


Here it lies on top of the mod, but its place will change:

You see on the side of the removable side a Pentium 2 cover, well I needed something for on the side so I searched and I found in my cpubox a nice pentium 2:


I used it:


I had to break down the mod in order to make a hole for the psu(it won't be the last time I brok it down):


I also made a hole in the psu for the tubing:


Here it nicely fits:


Next I started closing the mobo side with some pinewood, there is a 2 to 3 mm between every plank.

I still have a lot of work to do, and I have to choose which color for the watercooling and tubes etc.

A true 'Home Depot' build.
I'm surprised you didn't go for the PVC option. It would look cleaner. -It's just a bit more work to sculpt the turns. It would also be quieter.

 

I love the MMx logo cover.
other than that, this is an incredible mod.

Yeah, the elves did go back, now I've got some children who normally make shoes, they work very hard And thx for all your nice reactions.
I've also posted the last front picture (see above).
I'm now working on the on switch (the most important part of the whole pc).

After a month it is time for an update, and I hope to do one every week. I'm going to make a lot of changes, and I'm starting with the biggest change: THE RADIATOR

I rather like to make something than to buy something.

The advantages of making it yourself
You can choose the shape
You can choose the materials
cheep

The disadvantages:
First time
hard to make one as good as the ones you can buy

This project should be interesting,the tubes reminds about the walls inside a spaceship in some alien movie.The HD tube is a very cool thing that i never seen before GL with the project...

 

UPDATE
Again it is time for an update, I've continued the work on the radiator:
First, I made 4 windows:


The windows are covered with a kind of plactic that is kept on its place with the iron belt:

With this, the central tube will be hold on its place:

This is still a prototype. The real deal will be more perfect.
