I personally wouldn't use any P2P other than bittorrent; they're generally unsafe and (from GNUTella experiences) everything's wrongly labelled and/or porn. Of course, I only use P2P for legal thing
eMules ok, but its best to use it much like torrent. Use google and find ed2k sites then you just bung the link into the client and it sorts it our for you. Wouldn't use bearshare limewire etc...
Limewire PRO is actually pretty good, but the free version is crap. Limited connection speeds, adware (from my experience) etc.
it's not about the client, it's about the content. 95% of the stuff on limewire's network is **** (or at least was when i stopped using it two years ago), whereas 100% of the stuff on a private tracker is quality content.
True. I find Limewire's network is really good for music, but little else (other then pr0n of course). Private trackers are GREAT, but some of them can be nearly impossible to get into (or literally impossible, like Blackcats have now done).
No...bittorrent's as free as the wind. You just need to download a client (e.g Azureus) and then the torrent file for your intended download. Keep it legal though boys . <A88>
run a complete virus/ad/spy scan. if that turns up clean, then you shouldn't have anything to worry about. qft. there is one site (which i shall refrain from naming) that i would kill to get an invite for. i had an account this spring, but downloading in uni labs meant my computer always got shut off before my seed goal was reached, and i got banned for a poor ratio.
Some trackers are private and accept donations as a means of keeping them alive, but it's never mandatory
How does one newsgroup? I've know about them before I had teh internets but I've never been able to figure out how to use them (we're talking Usenet yes?) because I'm a proper n00b.
