Damn, that's the best airbrushing work I've ever seen (so far :hehe:).

I'm definitely going to be following this thread closely.

I would love to come round and watch your doing the airbrushing, it's a skill I'd love to have. Any possibility of rigging up a video camera during a session?

I use Iwata brushes, ( mainly hi-line) and automotive base coats / urethanes. MIPA brand in particular, but also house of kolor and PPG specialty pearls etc. finished with a 2pack clear coat and polished to perfection.

The cases are painted just like a show car / hotrod would be painted. or a normal car would be resprayed / repaired. This means the finish is as hard as Chuck Norris and as shiny as Anthony McPartlins heed!

Okay, last update until Wednesday ish, as I'm going on a short break :) - My 20th on tuesday !

The front if the case looked a little something like this:

    BORING !
    :)

Now it was quite a challenge to paint the front off this case, as its a weird shape and very 'bitty' so i have concentrated on 2 things; the hard drive cage and the power button area.

I needed inspiration, which i found - again right at the start, I knew i wanted to include the lighthouse in some way, so a started the game, swam around but just couldn't get the right angle to take a screenie, so i got back in the lift and looked for more inspiration. Then i found the rapture logo...

I made a mask, and stuck it to the cage front ( the front was already filled and prepped )

I also cut the words ' all good things of this earth flow into the city ' I thought it would be cool to link the start of the whole game - the light house and connect it to these words which you see as you enter rapture.

The lettering is painted in a prismatic paint, very light, so you cant actually see it unless the light hits it right.
Im looking at it now and i cannot see any text until i tilt and move it around - fab stuff - just a tad costly !

    almost out of sight.

Going back to the into of the game ( again ) remember the slide show? when Ryan speaks, and introduces his idea... Well I thought they were very powerful words and thought it would be cool to have them on the case somewhere.
The idea was to use a similar prismatic paint as before but have it almost as if it wasn't there - VERY subtle. it will pop out only at the exact angle and even then it will be subtle.

( a little water to show how the clear coat will make it act)
Next, I fancied a challenge, so on with the bioshock logo!

    Mask is made,

[IMG]Mask is applied. I havnt painted it in yet though.

That all for now... We are SO almost nearly done !!!
