Hi all, this my 2nd personal modding at Bit-tech.net.
I Bought an old skool case from a friend and i realized that the casing have a great potential to be mod.
The problem is,im limited of ideas, thats y i post a new thread to share with u guys and give me some ideas.
This is gonna be a real simple mod.Im trying to make is slow because short of fund and tight budget.:miffed:
    Orite,lets get it started.:dremel:

    The plans are:
    * Create a 120mm intake at the front.
    * Make a square hole at the bottom part and place a acrylic transparent.
    * repaint the inner part and the whole case.
    * Do some cable management as im not using a modular psu.
    * Install a case feet.
    * Change the front panel into a custom made front panel.
    * others will come later.

The side view of the case.

The top view of the case.

The front side of the case.So damn old skool.

The view from right side.wavy side panel.

    Lastly,the back side of the case.Only support 1x 8cm exhaust fan.:waah:

I will upload the interior parts later after i dismantle all of the into pieces.

    Ideas are mostly wellcome.
    Thanx guys.:thumb:

As soon as I saw that case I thought it'd be a case that DÈF¥âÑt¸.·´¯`¤ would have a lot of fun with. It's got some potential there. I'd say the best thing you could do at the moment it to have a look around at other peoples mods, particularly ones that involve curved and flowing surfaces. It'll give you an idea of what the possibilities are. Then it's really up to your imagination.

    Here's a start. Have a look at this case: HPR-4 Flame'D

Thanx mate. The front panel is cool tough.
But the big deal is,if i maintain to keep the front panel,it must go with the sode panel and top panel too as the curve
part make its hard to be mod.
hope you get it.Maybe ill use some bondo work if i want to keep using the original front panel.

    Thanx Gumbatron,
i love the work,he's awesome and creative.Great ideas bro.
    It inspires me.

For this mod,is it sufficient if i make a 1 120mm for intake at the front and another 80mm exhaust at the rear ??

This case is so small,i plan to make better airflow case that can keep up my X1950XT working below 90c. :sigh:

The front panel will be replaced using an acrylic.Maybe im not gonna use the original front because its too bulky and huge.

But im not sure how to make a 5.25" and 2.5" bezel.

Thanx bro.The wavy side panel wont be used as i will only use the steel panel and will put a raddy IF im using WC.

    Thanx to you too.

I hope it will be fun, rite now,im still deciding the front panel. Not sure either gonna use rivets or just screws to stick an acrylic to the front panel.

    2/12/07 : Ventilation Design Updates.
This is some edited photos of the layout.
The square part at at the bottom part will be cut and be replaced with mesh, grill or just a plexi ( acrylic).
The rounded 80mm will be cut to make full air to flow out from the case.
The small square part next to the PCI slot also will be cut to put some mesh, grill or just a plexi ( acrylic).

    Ventilation For Top Panel.

Two 120mm Intake at the top
    [IMG]

    OR

Just put 1X 120mm Fan on top. With two square holes for mesh, grill or acrylic.

Front panel ventilation. Its a must

This part ill just make it simple by cutting a 120mm hole for an intake.Ill add a 120mm blue LED fan so its still canbe seen clearly from the front panel.

4/12/07 Small updates on the panel that need to be cut.

I am not gonna cut it 1st as i still need a perfect design for it.This just an example of the side panel where i cover those 5.25 bays and also the power supply.

Any other design are mostly wellcome..:thumb:

You could cut a big square out where that 80mm hole is in the back and make a duct for a 120mm that blows directly onto your mobo...
It you do make a hole in the front- I say keep the original front and sculpt the blowhole to match the design. Or cut out the bottom of the frontpiece and leave the fan unexposed. The fan should give the plastic an eerie glow.
