if anyone know a way to not to chance everything, or if you could help me with the upgrad.
please share it, any help apriciated.

you are right, you need to upgrade everything. the upgrade from s478 means your old ram is not compatible, and your psu may no longer be sufficient. all you can reallistically hope to re-use is your hard drive and cd drive.

before anybody can recommend anything, you need to tell us how much you are looking to spend, and what you plan to use the computer for / how much do you game. i'd also recommend looking through some of the many similar threads on the first few pages of this forum to get an idea of what other people are buying and how much stuff costs.

should be alright to work with.

Like most others around here Core2Duo (doubt your budget will be enough for quad) with some form of 8800 and most likely an ASUS mobo would be your best bet.

thats my 2cents for the moment

A Geforce 8800GT would be sufficient for most current games, however maybe not Crysis with 'Very high' graphics. It's pretty much bang for the buck currently.

I'm not sure how much a Core 2 Quad Q6600 costs currently but they are good processors.

For the board go for an Asus one as DaveVader suggested.

IMO go for 4GB of RAM so you have enough of it. Remember to get a 64-bit OS then to utilize the full amount.

PSU, a solid Corsair or Seasonic will do the job greatly. No cheap ones! :nono:

And DDR2-800Mhz ram. 2Gb kits available for £36.
Scan's selective search is the easiest way to find a motherboard that has exactly what you need, shaves off some time and cost.
Don't be tempted into buying an 800W psu or anything, add it up (or ask someone here to do so when you've got a hardware list :)) and get the cheapest good-brand you can. It's easy to go overkill on PSU's.

Corsair PSU's are good especially for the money, RAM is real cheap these days too so the 4gig as mm vr mentioned wont break the bank

dont think Ive heard of that make of memory, try and find some Corsair or OCZ or another well known make.
The motherboard is pretty good, I have MSI and am quite pleased with it, I do believe that MSI is crossfire (so if u want dual graphics you will have to use ATI but as you said, you aren't a real hard gamer)
I'm not up to date on Intel CPU's but I'm not doubting that one isn't great.
The PSU is a good choice but chances are you wont need that much power.
GPU is fine as far as Im aware

That motherboard you have chosen has got 2 pci-e 16x but it is crossfire not sli, so you wont be able to put another of your graphic cards in, either change it for a cheaper one slot pci-e 16x or get a 680i chipset motherboard.

There is no point in getting that processor you should get the core2duo q6600 as it is cheaper and faster.

get 4x1gb memory as the 2gb memory is having some problems.

looks about right, if the RAM isn't to expensive try and go with 4GB but 2GB is suffice for a lot of things.

RAM is excellent if you can afford it, as said above.
The Q6600 is what everybody recommends everybody, but it's £150 OEM (no cooler; £160 upwards with one). A cheaper alternative would be the E6750. You won't be able to run as much at once, and it's less futureproof, but it's still very fast and only about £120 retail, i.e. with cooler.
Either way, not the E6850. Too expensive for a dual core with the q6600 around :)

Don't get the 1GB model, it's not very much better that the 512MB model (but a lot more pricey).

from what I understand, the GTX performs great at high resolutions and yes it most likely will out perform the 1gb GT

Like mm vr said, best bet would be to go with the 512 GT

    Looking really good!

I'd, personally, go for a Corsair 520W or 620W as they are reliable and not so expensive either.
However I remember when I said once about a PSU "That PSU ain't good, get a better one" and then Bindi had actually reviewed it and it was good, so can somebody correct me if I'm wrong about the Gigabyte?

Be sure to get the G0 stepping version of the Q6600! (I'm not sure if you've chosen one already.)
