My first attempt at a sketchup component.

    2,5" SATA HD .skp 6

To the best of my knowledge, this should be to scale.

Tell me if it is useable, or if I have to make it some other way.
Different sections are made up of components or groups - was the easiets way for me to make the darn thing!

Well it took me about 7 hours but I made an electronic lock key switch.

It is accurate to .25mm and has everything but its ID tag on it.

Edit: Sorry, woke up and found out I forgot to rescale it when I was finished. Link is fixed now.

If you find it worthy of placement on SCC, then I would like that.
I thought, that when things got posted here on a public forum (Bit-tech) - and you evaluated it to be worth re-using somewhere, then you automatically posted it on SCC.

I love the fact that you maintain SCC, as it makes for an easy and convinient access for the whole community to those HOURS of work it usually takes to make these items. No need for anyone to reinvent the wheel over and over and o....

How do you make those renders for SCC?
When I take a screen shot, they look nothing like the pictures you have at SCC.

Go ahead and post my stuff on the SCC. There is usually no point making these small trinkets if they're not going to be shared.

I know I'm not done but here is what I have so far. BTW this is being made in Inventor, at school and there are 160 parts that make up the buggy

Well I just got finished with a M3 to M3 standoff, In both 6.5 and 8.5 mm length versions.

The only thing I couldn't measure was the depth of the female thread. I had to count the number of threads so it may not be 100% accurate in that respect.

Everywhere else has a .25mm margin of error.

    To Do

    6-32 Screw
    6.5 and 8.5 mm 6-32 to 6-32 Standoff
    6.5 and 8.5 mm 6-32 to M3 Standoff

Man I have been a little busy lately...anyways...

@Beast! Beast! Beast! That is so cool man! You guys ate actually building that buggy? I ussume your sticking a bad a$$ VW engine in that. Can't wait to see the final rendering and the final build, please post soon pics when you have it running.

@zelox991, exellent render, I'm doing my house too and will try to render it as soon as I finish. Keep it up bro.

@AllAgainstPaul, love your name bro.:thumb: your models are looking great, adding them to the collection will be a welcome edition. WE Want More! WE Want More! WE Want More!:thumb:

@Noswal, cool block man, now you should try adding mat textures on it to give it the realistic look. I posted a tutorial a few post back you should take a look at it for referance and if you have any question please let us know.

As for me I waiting on the new E8500 quads CPU with 45nm chip to come out and I'm upgrading again...well this never end!?!?!?:naughty:

oh yeah...and maybe make ur own color designs?(without all those logos and sponser commerials on them, you know what i mean! XD)

and i have a question....how does the "layer" function in sketchup work?
i can't seem to add stuff to layer.
is it from the entity option from the context click menu??
PLZ....i need help!....b/c i want to put different structures like furniture and the empty house in different layers...

Right now I'm working on an On/On Toggle Switch with a hat. But It is taking forever to do the curves of the hat and I'm not even done with one side. I was wondering if there was a way to flip a non symmetrical model along an axis?

Edit: Nevermind, found it. Under the right click menu.

I've been very busy recently with various things, and know that I have missed some new items in this thread.
I would really appreciate it if people could submit any items they'd like adding to the collection.
    Please use the contact page.

Well I finished with the toggle switch with a optional hat. It has a LED in the tip of the toggle that illuminates when in the on position if you have a second lead running.
