It came as a bit of a shock as every gas bill I've had in the past has been around 150, and I'm a right stingy git with the heating, its generally freezing in this house. Radiators are turned off in half of the house, as half of the house is generally unoccupied most of the time. I've even turned off one in the lounge, as the plasma doubles as heating (hello electricity bill, just can't win )

The culprit I believe is the hot water, and the ass of a plumber that said "ooh you don't want it set like that, you want to set it like this see, this will make sure you have hot water all the time and it won't cost any more, and even a bit less than before", I foolishly took his word for it. I've set it back to what I reckon it should be anyway, as I really never had a problem before (the "problem" was it wouldn't fill the swimming-pool bath, that has been used twice in 6 months), and never had a £350 gas bill before either.

That and apparently the rate has gone up considerably in the last month, and I just discarded the notice without reading it, oops.

And they're accurate readings (mine) and the best price I could find. We're paying £95/month DD, gas heating & cooker, in a decent sized house. You need to get some discounts going.

 

I swear my gas bills have been on a fixed rate for the last 6 years, until this last one that is

tiny cramped flat, big airy penthouse, "cozy" semi, large detatched, I swear every bill has been within a tenner of 150

I may just turn everything off and freeze until summer comes to compensate.

 

Filled my car (Yay I got a car now)... and just ordered Rebel Xti.... (gonna save up for a better lens next)

ha, i use my computer to warm my uni bedroom, quad core and a G80 all overclocked on air makes a fantastic space heater! best one i ever owned was a Athlon XP-M 2500+ clocked at 2.7GHz on water, man did that chuck out heat! i had my bedroom amibent temperture up to 38 degrees C in winter, use to sit there with the window open CS:S it when snow fell softy outside.
