My boot time for XP is about 43 seconds, with dual boot setup, and from an IBM 60GXP 40Gig HDD

This is due to the Highpoint RAID bios!!! :)

Ive got normal UDMA 100 setup - no raid!?! Its been optimised by Bootvis and is lovely and defragged. Also ive got all my programs on 1 disk and literally JUST my OS on another disk to keep it sweet :)

Mine's done the same way... 23s is nothing special, my boot spends more than 10s deciding I don't use the RAID adaptors on my mobo :(

    r. :p

My system spends a large amount of time deciding whether there are drives on the RAID connectors, probably almost 15 maybe as much as 20 seconds, so in effect my boot time is about 23 seconds, without the RAID bios waiting game....

    ABOUT 35-40 SECONDS.

I ALSO GET A SCREEN OF RANDOM BLUE AND WHITE DOTS oops capslock... just before the mouse cursor appears. it stays for about 2 seconds, just long enough for you think 'oh god it's crashed' and then it comes up... Abit BX6v2, p3 800, matrox g400.
