How can i enable DVI?

    i got DVI/analog monitor 20" wide but i cant seem to be able to switch on DVI mode. i have the DVI cables but when i go on menu and put dvi it doesnt react or says i cant DVI.like 1 month ago i was playing DVI on this monitor but now it doesnt work.

    I tried to put the DVi cables in all orders but doesnt work.Is there anything that must be done throught software?

    Nope DVI jsut works, same as d-sub. have you tried using a different cable? Are you sure that output on the graphics card works? Does it load DVI mode but not show a picture, or does it refuse to try and use that mode?

    when i go settings and put from analog to DVI it goes black for a second and then it writes analog again like i didnt set anything.I will try a different cable tho.

    Sounds to me like it isn't getting a signal, and it then resetting to analog. If you unplug analog does it flick between the two, or just stay where it's set?

    I have heard of this issue with Viewsonic LCD's the dvi port gets "blocked" you have to turn off the lcd take the socket out of the wall and let it completely de-energize then try again.

    immy what must i do exactly?
    and yeah i tried to put only DVI cable but then i get no signal at all.

    unplug the lcd from the powerpoint ( so there is no power going into it and leave it unplugged for 10minutes then plug everything back in and dvi should be unblocked. Its a known issue with Viewsonics

    Unplug the VGA cable. Does an image show up with just the DVI cable connecting the monitor and the computer?

    My Dell manual says do not have both cables plugged in. Ever. :nono:

    no it doesnt show.shows something like no connection or no response.
