    Hy all!
I'm an italian modder, my name is Dia2777 and I'm admin at www.crazydogteam.it , this is the first time that i publish something on an international forum like this one, I hope my work will look good :)

usually my mods start with a big planning session, I don't like complex things, I like easy idea, but well done. Usually I try to imagine my case finished, in every little piece, to have zero trouble in the builing session.

This case will be named “Glacial” and as you can recognize by the name , the main concept is give a cold feeling. I've decided to use some material : aluminium, stainless steel and blue UV plexy.
I don't want to explain all the mod now, if you like the main concept you must follow the worklog :)

This is the first shot in my planning session , the main body will be in stainless steel :

From this phase to the workbench , I've used stainless steel in bars, section 30mm x 20mm , they must be cutted at 45°

    Fresh cutted :

As I told you before, I'll use even alluminium, but the first things to do is a little cleaning with polish, to remove some minor scratches :

This is a little new toy, this will be in the front side.

After cutting all the stainless steel bars, I'm ready to build the main body. To join the bars together I've used the weld , this is the first time fot me, but doesn't matter, this section will be hidden...
    All the tools :

A quick deburring with a file and I'm ready :

    Some clamps and go :

This is the final result, here you can see how will look the stainless steel bars :

    Welding the bottom bars :

    That's all, folks!
    Some comments?

Tnx a lot for the positive comments!
I'm in love with this controller, it even display total watt !
Now, let's go on with the interesting phase : doing the front plate!
What's the first think about cold?
    Snow!
So, why don't have in thr front plate two fan grill in a shape of snowflake ?
To give some idea of moving I've decided to a non-linear position, you know, when the snow is falling... Time spent for a single snowflake : about 1,30 hours...
    I've used some tools :
    -Dremel with flexible shaft
-cutting disk, 409, small and precise cut
    -a large number of files
-some engraving cutter from Dremel where the cutting disk doesn't work

I've tried to cover the whole piece with some masking tape, but I've bring it apart, I wasn't comfortable :)

Here you can see how i want the snowflakes :

The diameter is 80mm, I'm planning to use some Coolink fans :)
A shot with the work in progress :

    The first snowflake :

    And the second :

    Family shot :

The whole assortment of Dremel items that I've used :

See you soon, guys, do you look this work?

My hat is off to you...

Good cutting skills I used a scroll saw and would not even try those tight radii with it...but have a :dremel: and "Know how to use it!!!" :naughty: ......we have something in common....the cold/ice in our builds.....I'm taking a different approach with lights and plexi...well and what comes in dreams....

You know, it's not easy to obtain this result, but a scroll saw will be really helpful in this works :)
Can you give me the link of your mod? I'm so curious...
Anyway, tnx a lot for the positive feedback!
Here is the logo that I've choose, I'll place this in the front panel, some pics to show you the entire work :

Nice project. Did you use sandpaper to get the aluminium shiny or just polish?

I've seen your mod, Algoron, the theme is near the same, ice, but my Fire case is a little bit different :)
Tax time in Italy will be in may, same cry like you :-(

Dear craig_h i've used some sandpaper and then polish compound

In this post I want to show you the fan controller integration in the front panel of the case. My idea is to don't show it more than the necessary, I want the front panel design as smooth as possible. I've planned the measure with a CAD so I can cut it in the best way.

After that I've used the 409 cutting disk on my Dremel and a file :

A little polish touch and we need only to see if the measure was correct :

    Ok, it's perfect :)
See you soon with more update!
