Case Mod - In Progress Project: "Building Better Worlds" by E.E.L. Ambiense - Completed

I say spend the 30 bucks for the repair. You spent way more then that on just getting the paint right, why not do the same for the main component of the PC itself?

I say you should spend the $30 and send it off to repair, and grab the lady and head back to the hotel till you hear from the repair types!

LOL. Sounds like a plan.

I faxed the RMA stuff to DFI, so when I hear from them I can send it off. But for $30, there's no guarantee they can repair it. My guess is a cap blew or something, even though I don't see any that look bad.

 

You´ve got me wrong I dont think you shot your case orange after you have seen my mod.

Tssen wrote something like:

To be funny i answered with something like:

Dont get me wrong when I say it was just to be funny, but now I think it didn't succeed

Just wanted to say that I think your orange E.E.L. is different than Zwinks' color - both cannot be compared. Right?

I already said what I think about colors in your rig - they very good chosen, all kinda pastel, "toned" colors, not making you want to close your eyes.. I hope you know what I mean.

I think he took my advice about going back to the hotel Anyway, I voted for this since ANYTHING SciFi is my bag and old Weyland put up a good fight even with the same inhaler I use.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, John. But it's like pissing in the ocean at this point.

I'm really hoping I can get this mod back on track and soon. I'm sending off the DFI board today, so it'll be at least 2 weeks before I get it back. And that's assuming it's repairable too. Not to mention the acrylic I need to laser.

I have my main rig to get updated with a new board. Not to mention a new Lian Li case I have plans for when it finally drops.

yeah my old DFI SLI-DR decided to die, and it had the same problems you do. The only thing i could think of was the Northbridge cooking itself... let me know what it turns out to be, as iv still got my dead board and would love to get it working again.

 

Hm. I've had it for 3 years and running straight for most of that. When I initially got it, before firing it up I had mounted an A8N-SLI DangerDen chipset block on it that I had, and had it on water for over a year. Then I replaced it with an HR-05; first passive, then with a fan mounted on it. When I sent it back I slapped the original fan back onto the board, which was still brand new and never used. It'll probably confuse the tech guys, lol.

Honestly, my guess is it got zapped by someone here at work... "Oohh...what's this thing? *grabs motherboard and shocks it with static* Ouch! What the hell? It ain't plugged in!" *puts it down and walks away*
