Already been mentioned but Serious Sam 1&2 in co-op is hilarious, when ive played with friends we start out only wanting a quick game of it then end up fully completing both games. RA2 is good too provided youre all of equal ability, so that one person doesnt obliterate everyone in 5 mins
I remember in highschool we would all go over to my friends house durring lunch to play some DOD and TFC. Serious sam (both) and GTA SA multiplayer can be fun for a while. Depending on the specs of who is coming I would say anything on the quake 3 engine is a good idea. Elite force is one of the better lan games that fits this criteria as being easy to run and fun for hours. Good luck whenever you do this.
Total Annihilation + Core Contingency and/or CS1.3 (or whatever the last version with real bunnyhopping was).
Race Car Lan Games There was an older game that unfortunately I've forgotten the name and I'm hoping someone will recognize it. The game was played in a cityscape and our favorite game was gold race where the object of the game was to pick up a gold bar and keep it the longest. Any one running into you caused you to lose the gold bar. It was hilarious especially when everyone drove double Decker buses or 14 wheelers.
Serious Sam! Serious Sam! Serious Sam! Serious Sam! oh, did I forget to mention Serious Sam? 1st and 2nd encounter, and the sequal, are all the best most greatest fun in co-op you can possibly ever have, so go play! The Co-op mod for D3 is pretty cool as well, I finished D3 with Joe once on that.
I'd have to say when it comes to LAN games, BF2 is where it's at. FSX: Acceleration is also a really chillin game for post-sesh LAN parties. You just can't beat the open sky with all your buds.
The best for cooperative play from me: Homeworld 2 Rainbow Six 3 Raven Shield Warcraft 3 I've never been a fan of the Halo franchise, but when my mate brought it to a LAN party, we had a blast.
another vote for Serious Sam co op also no one lives forever 2 co op is quite good and both can be picked up cheap as chips
Talk about thread revival, heh, from 2006. DXR_13KE, totally agree, such an awesome game, best of all, an absolute blast. Sam
Midtown madness me thinks????? A similar game that I have played at a lan is a race game called Insane!!!! non-stop laughfest!!!!!
Last lan i went to we played diablo 2: Lord of Destruction expansion, warcarft 3: the frozen throne expansion, counterstrike source, battlefield 2, and good ol board games like monopoly! Can't be bothered to play WoW or most of the modern mmorpgs, requires too much time and effort, and monthly fees...
For me DOTA is a very good lan game because this mod is very good. Hope everyone can try playing this game.
I've had up to ten computers set up but they were all older computers. The games we had most fun with are.... Atomic Bomberman - 10 guys on one screen with bombs blowing up all over Whiplash - old dos game racing game, up to 15 players, loops, corkscrews, jumps, and car damage/pits Age Of Empires 2 - one of the best old strategy games Star Wars Battlefront 2 - fun online one that has lan I used to play allot Diablo II - run around killing monsters is always fun
It's ALL about (mind blank) the UT mode where it's all the same one hit kill plasma rifle. SO much fun. Just about reaction times. INSTAGIB. I remember.
