Two questions. 1. I know the stock intel is supplied with P4's up to 1.5ghz (and probably 1.8) but will it be ok with a 2.2ghz clocked to 2.4? 2. What is the max my 2.2 northwood will clock to? I think its just 2.4 is that true or false? Thanks AoD
a 2.2 NW should do 2.6 or more possibly depending on factors like mobo/ram/pci/agp cards etc. a stock cooler should be fine, just keep an eye on temps if your worried.
my stock cooler was good for 2.66 from my 2.26 im not sure how ur 2.2 should do but im told its not as good as the 2.26 so expect maybe 2.5 ish
My stock cooler was good for 2.0 to 2.4, the alpha 8942 let me get to 2.56 with a slight voltage increase.
well so far i've clocked it to 2.42ghz but i'm being cautious about going any further. I'v got my eyes on that new Swiftech cooler, shame it's over 70 quid though.... AoD
I got up to 2.84 with my 2.4 with stock heatsink, I'm planning on ordering the swiffey, so I can hit 2.9 (that is when I get more funds, my new computer sort of wiped me out!)! View the thread here!
