to get better bends ... drill a hole i the sheet. a small hole, right in the place where the bended faces connect, works wonders.

Well, we could have done that. And we probably will do that next time, but we didn't think about it last time. And i think we are not gonna make those panels again because it did cost pretty much time.
    But thx for the tip.

    Update 6: 28-3-2008

Today, after a couple hours of school, we were able to do some things. Because we were at my place and badje forgot some of the stuff he told me he would bring with him, there were not a lot of things we could do. We started thinking about the sidepanels. Perhaps we should have done that before, but I personally believe that it didn't make that much difference that we started now ;). Our opinion was that we definitely needed to cut, or dremel, some of one corner of each sidepanel. And so we did, after some basic measuring we started to cut it. In the end both panels fit. Ofcourse we got some pictures of the proces:
    The filing afterwards

Another thing we did today, it was actually a thing we expected to do last time, but we thought we were out of time :geek: , so we did it now. We finally cut the hole for our Power Supply.
That's me, cutting the hole with my dremel...

This picture shows us the danger of the almighty :dremel: :
The disks will break, no matter what you do! :jawdrop:

And last but not least, pictures of the total result. *And yes I know, my room is a mess *
    [IMG]
With the sidepanels mounted ofcourse :hip:

And that was all for today, hope you enjoyed the little work we did, another update next week, we will probably have a lot of time :)

    Update 7: 02-04-2008

Today again a little to do at school: time for some modding! :) For once badje did take all the stuff we needed to school, so the actual modding could start again.
We started at school cutting some 1mm aluminium in various pieces.
At my place it all looked like this:
What you see here is: cover for psu and harddisks, cover for the rad and some pieces to secure our constructions :eeek:

After that, we drove home, and figured out what to do next: it would be the bending of our psu/harddiskcover.
Ofcourse we need to have our own way to bend it, , why don't we just take some aluminium with a 90 degree angle and just try it out!
We made a few bends like that and it worked out quite nice :cooldude:
It isn't finished yet, but it sure already rocks!

Since badje is the photographer of our whole project *sometimes I get a chance to take some sneaky pictures :D* he thought it would be nice to make a photo of the lovely weather in Holland, but we got to say that the weather isn't that stable here as it looks ;):

This is the piece we just bend.

    Close up
    [IMG]

And ofcourse it matches with our sidepanels ;)

For one time my mum got the camera, so for just once we are both in the picture...

The fans in the front of the case, looks great! (at least: we think they are )

Light is supposed to be white, my camera is just fooling with the colors... The case looks quite big a this angle...

Another photograph... You can clearly see we also mounted the rad, on a not common position...

The way the rad has been mounted

mhh i would change the colour of the fans. blue is so common and so boring.

organge, red white or green would be much more interesting in combination with a flat dark paintjob

everything else turned out just well.

Your right blue is so common. But the point here is that those fans have white leds, but the camera f*cks it up:duh:. If you look @ the firste page, you can see what color the fans actually are. White.:D

Looking good so far, and as stated by others, I'm also waiting to see this finished.
On another issue: the Citroen 2CV in picture 148 was a nice surprise. Since it's probably not related to this mod, who owns it?

It's my parents 2CV actually, and you're right that is isn't related to our mod. My dad used to drive one 20 years ago, my mother wanted it for a long time so they bought it two years ago. It's actually great to drive with such little technology :)

    Anyway: on-topic:
Thanks, we have to do a lot 'till it's finished, but it's great to do, the exams are on its way (around the end of May), so soon we hope to update much faster :D

    Update 8: 02-06-08

    Ha here we are again.
It has been a while since we last updated, but in the meantime we didn't sat still doing nothing. We were busy with school, we had final exams to do.
We had to learn very hard for it, our exams started @ May 19th and we had our last exam @ May 29th. After that we started modding again.
Meanwhile we ordered some stuff we needed, like leds and buttons. Most of it arrived already but we are still waiting on some gear.
We wanted to finish the inside first, it is almost done. We just need to put some pieces of alu on place, make a few cuts, put mesh somewhere and we are done with it. Then we can go work on the outside of the case.
There was the talking now the pics are comming.

As I already said we ordered some stuff.
    A package,
    [IMG]
from China. What would be in it?
    ORLY?
    YRLY!
    Aah, a lcd screen.
    Both parts.
    The backside of the lcd.
    A few leds
The yellow thing you see is the on/off button.
Together with the leds we already got.
Close up, 5mm UV, 3 mm White, 5 mm White.

Then we got another package! WOoOE
    [IMG]
    PVC pipe.
    Again.
    Or not?
It is a 50 cm, 50 mm diameter plexiglas pipe.
This is how the pipe was cut, what on earth did they use for it? We think it is a breadknife...:duh:
    Some glue.
    Some plexiglas sheets.
    Sideview.
    1 cm thick.
    8 mm thick.
All of 'em, we got 10mm, 8mm and 6mm thick plexi.
That was the stuff we ordered.

[/Update 8] More next time , plz leave a comment.

    Update 9: 02-06-08
The next part, the I/O rack and the mobo tray.

    The backside.
    The inside.
We used this rivets to secure the rack.

Now the mobotray. We wanted to make the tray out of 5 mm thick smoked plexi.
Some profile (or however it is called, can't remember it right now).
    It is 2 meter long.
    Cut in pieces.
    Top view.
Mounted it in the case using rivets.
    Again.
    Plexi tray in place.
    With the top mounted on.
    Different angle.
With the sidepanel in its place.

Next thing we did was making a cover for the inside.
We don't have any producing pictures, but we got the result.
    Side.
    Without top panel.
    With top panel.
    View from the right side.
    View from the left side.
    Inside view.
    Another one.
And offcourse we made another one :D

[/Update 9] More next time , plz leave a comment.

Radiator packed in tape, to protect it from scratching.

    Some Neoprane.
    Well..

My less beautiful Danger Den Maze 4, socket A.
But since I have a socket 939 mobo I need a new top, so let's make one.
Stip. cutting some plexi with the scrollsaw, he is making a top for his own block.
    Me filing my top.
Stip. filing his top, he also has a Danger Den Maze 4, but he needs a socket 775 top.
    Stil filing and cutting
    [IMG]
Measuring the top, I'm very concentrated.
    Again Stip. filing.
    My end result.
    Stip.s end result, with fittings.
Top + base, wich is now clean.
    With flash.
    Without flash.
    That was the watercooling part.

Now we show you some of the machines we are able to use.
    Overall shot.
    Cutting machine, love it.
    Bending thing, forgot the name..
