    SnagIt (8)!!
Awesome program, allows you to perform many types of screen captures, and is simple to use.

Print Screen keyboard button, or even better use Windows Snipping Tool. It allows you to take a screen shot of your desktop if any shape you want, or select an area, or a Windows or on roll-over objects, or full screen. You can save the picture in GIF, PNG and JPEG. And it is easy to use.
Windows Snipping Tool, is only available in Windows Vista 32 and 64-bit Home Premium/Business/Enterprise/Ultimate Edition

Looks handy, but I can't see any way to copy an area extending more than a screen height/width (ie, with scroll bars). For that I use FastStone Capture, freeware up to ver.5.3.

SnapaShot. What you see is what you get.

By the way, "Print Screen" takes a screenshot, but ALT + "Print Screen" takes a screenshot of your active window only. Which is handy.
