I'm looking at finally changing my Chieftec Dragon that I've had for an age now to something a little.. quieter and more modern. The P182 naturally takes my interest however the local shop needs to order them in or I will have to order online. Now, I've read after a fair bit of browsing that the newer revision P180 is the same minus the 270 degree door and has a silver finish instead. So, do you think I'd be better off ordering the P182 from the internets or buying the P180 in the shop? Both are £82 and £85 (180/182) respectively and I'm fairly happy to live without the 270 degree door. What's your thoughts?
i thought the p180/182 are all the same. earlier p180 don't have the cable management, now it does. so as far as i can tell, they are both the same. but why not go for p182 if it's only a few quid. and don't forget it's got a better finish (not silver, it's gun metal black) keep in mine both p180/2 are very heavy.
I currently have the whole lot: P180B, P182 and P180 Mini. My P180 is supposed to be a rather early model, but even it has the 270 degree door. What it lacks instead is the cable management, and that's a huge loss. The finish on the P182 is nice dark grey, but I still prefer P180B over it. If the P180 you're looking at is new then the only difference should indeed be the color. IMO Antec should have renamed the P180 and P180B into P182S(ilver) and P182B when they did the modifications....
Yeh, same, i have it, and i love it! There are some differences between the 180 and the 182, the 182 has some nice water cooling features, like grommets for getting tubes in/out of your case. Get the P182, it is slightly better.
I may have to hold fire on it anyway now as I don't really have enough money this month but cheers for the opinions
It has to be the P182 although the newer P180 are very similar. If you really like the colour of the P180, go for that. The performance levels are quite similar with the two models.
