Good point, but like you said this being a computer based website the results will be skewed. Not everyone who says "high/expert" or whatever will be at that level but im willing to be a large percentage of them are. Anyways just food for though. My results are:

    21
    Male
    very high

(lol, you realise a few potential flaws with your chosen sample? the skew will be very noticeable, though definitely something to talk about in an evaluation)

    @ ChromeX & modgodtanvir
as I've already explained here; I'm not characterizing people/computer users in general, but rather the members of this forum as the "population".
I'm conducting the same exercise at another forum so that I can compare to different populations and infer any statistical differences between them.

In terms of the Tech savvyness I know it's very subjective based on the individual and what he/she is comparing him/herself to and that it's entirely possible that people will claim to be more technically inclined than they really are; as long as I state that that's the level the person/people claim to be at but does not necessarily reflect their actual abilities there would be no problem with using the data to characterize what tech level people (on the forum) claim to be at.

You could assume (or find out) that a certain percentage of the population will lie, in which case it makes no difference since you're comparing populations.

Yeah, sorry about subjecting all of you to that, I have since handed in my dissertation, lost all my hair due to stress, have developed permanent bags under my eyes, and now have a reoccurring nightmare involving statistical programs and microsoft excel...

    Anyway... good luck!
