So, providing the weather holds out you've either got to get up early or catch the sun going down :)

NO extrapolating it into "The Golden Shower" or some other nastiness you 'orrible lot.

As usual - thank you to OCZ Technology for sponsoring the bit-tech POTM.

How about something like, "Does that mean I've got to wake up at the crack of Dawn?"

It doesn't have to be a literal interpretation :D

Terrible timing... I managed to grab a couple sunset shots in NM a couple days ago that I thought looked great (at least on the back of the camera). Oh well, I guess now I have to be creative.

Great shot there yoda, I'm liking the new theme. I hope I have some time to get out there and take some shots.

There was never any doubt that yodas opening shot (1st one submitted this month) was going to be the winner :) The bar got set so high the rest of us had to learn how to jump all over again ;)
Congrats with the win. It was definitely deserved.

Very interesting point distribution this month. It was really close. Might as well have been 4 third placings.

New theme is great and open. Good choice. Am looking forward to spring mornings.

BTW You got my 2 pics mixed up I think. The 3rd place shot isn't the one in the article. Though I like the one above best ;)

The golden hour is not necessarily the sunset/rise itself rather the light which is projected from it onto another object creating a warm feel. It is the time of day at which the suns position in correlation with the earth creates lighting which is directed towards an object on the same plane, rather than mid-day when the sun is directly overhead. When this happens it opens up a large dynamic range of texture and shadow which only occur during these 2 times of day. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_hour_(photography)

Hence why apparently the National Geographic will only accept pics taken at these 2 times. :)

The best photo's I've ever take were towards the end of the day in the national parks of utah. Lovely golden light with rich golden rock.

Exactly, for Landscapes at least. Its been said they won't even look at an image if it was not taken during these times of day, not that I believe that but it just goes to show how important it is.

I live in Utah, and I was just thinking I might pop down to Lake Powell to take some pictures before it gets unbearably hot down there. I might also stop by Capital Reef and Bryce parks, they're beautiful places.
