Just read the majority of the mod log and all I can say is wow :) The attention to detail is brilliant, and seeing as I love small cases anyway watching you pack a TEC cooled ATX setup into one is just awe-inspiring!

Big kudos for finding those spring loaded contacts; I saw them in an Alienware build about 3 or 4 years ago for a side fan and now I know what they are called I might finally be able to buy some! :dremel:

Thanks to everyone who as been patiently waiting for an update...

Well, despite the lack of updates to the log, work has been continuing on both the basement, and the Rogue. Ironically, I am working on wiring both... :D Unfortunately, it's not all that picture worthy. However, I do have a few that I'll try to get up as soon as I can.

Regarding the Rogue, the wiring of it seems to be taking forever. Almost every wire and cable in the case will be routed under the motherboard tray. This will make for a very clean case, but it also means that I've got a ton of stuff that I'm currently cutting, splicing, and extending. For example, all the USB cables for the Via, and the Rogue itself, all switch and lighting wiring, cat5 for the Via, gauge wiring and temp senders, TEC wiring, and etc... Also under the tray, are two wireless adapters for the Via and Rogue, and a 4 port USB hub. The USB hub will handle the connections for one of the wireless adapters, the Matrix orbital display, a bluetooth module, and a flash drive for ReadyBoost. Power connections for the TEC relay, fan controller, gauges, LCD screen, DVD drives, and lighting, also find a home under the tray... Egads, I must be crazy! :duh:

the devil is in the detail isn't it. at least you can wire your basement with the walls off. we were pulling wire through our walls in our kitchen this week when we put in a new counter top.

looking forward to this when your done.

I have been waiting patiently for an update, and I didn't want to leave this comment but...

Where are you? I need my dose of Rogue.

Also I thought I would bump this back up for you to remind people of this awesome mod.

Oh, I'm still here! I just finished wiring my basement today, and will insulate and start sheetrock by Monday. I've got most of the wiring on the Rogue done, and the motherboard tray is in place. I just have to finish a little detail work on the case face, and I can start some assembly... I'll try and get my progress pics up as soon as I can. :D

    Hi,

First of all :jawdrop: WTF you did such a great job so far.
I am really impressed, and I hope you'll finish your basement soon
    cause I can't wait for what's coming next.

Then I got a question, do you know where I could buy
a screen such as the one you use in front of your case ?
Take in consideration that I'm a student (small budget)
and even a 7" screen would be enought for me.

I hope you get everything I said (I am french and I have to
admit that my english can be really bad)...

hey! glad to see a new post, i went into withdrawal or something without the updates!!!

also, i looked into buying a rogue, but i saw that it was listed as a mATX case. so here are my questions: are you using a full ATX mobo in the rogue(i saw your sig. says MSI 780i)? then, if you are, what did you have to do to get it to fit? i saw the earlier pictures where you had to get creative with how you positioned the mobo because of the radiators, but i couldnt tell what form factor that mobo was.

thanks for being awesome at modding!

He's got it set up for full-size ATX. It's pretty cozy, but it fits in there nice after he modified a few things. :dremel:

Yeah its a full size ATX, but the back panel has been cut/modded to take one that fits with a full size atx mobo.

Overal changing the mounting points for the mobo and modding the back panel would be relatively easy

Finally, an update! Thanks for being so patient guys! Things have been crazy around here lately, but progress was made all the way around. So, let's get on with it!

First up, I'll show you all a few pics of the basement progress.

Here, all the electrical work has been done.

Drywall started! Most of the ceiling has been done in this shot. We should get the wall insulated, and some rock on the walls starting tomorrow.

Well, let's move on to the Rogue.

I mentioned all the goodies that will find their way under the motherboard tray. Of all those things, one of them is a 4 port USB hub.

There are also a pair of USB wireless adapters. One for the Rogue, and one for the Via.

One of the additional features I'm adding to this case, is integrated bluetooth.

I've had to modify and sleeve a USB cable.

Here I've stripped the cover off the bluetooth adapter.

Finally, the adapter sitting in place on the front of the case.

This may look a little messy, but I had to test all my modified cables before I went any further. Once the motherboard is in place, things are going to be a little difficult to troubleshoot.

All seems to work fine. I've got video, and all USB connections work as they should.

With everything else take care of, I dropped the motherboard tray in place.

Next up, I'll get the front of the case in place and start some assembly. Woohoo!

Nice work man! Again, love this mod. Love the Bluetooth idea, think i might have to copy ya and add the same thing to my case.

Where did you get that usb hub? is it just a stripped down external powered hub? or is it something actually meant for the inside of your case? (i sound confused cause i am, never seen one like that)

Man, I think it's safe to say there's nothing this PC won't have.
