    this is a cool looking little project.. makes it sound simle too. Just goes to show you that if you keep your eyes open when walking around you can find some neat project ideas... :D

    Shame about the CD drive though. Maybe he could have used one of those blue TDK drives instead?

    I agree about the drive, but I think it is tight considering it was done for, what appears to be, a considerably low budget.

    Then you could flip them off 3 times at once... I think it would be useful to have another arm... I could hold both wires while I solder with the other, wouldn't need no stinkin helping hands kit...

    now that is one sweedish computer..
    I know that was really bad but it was kinda funny when I thought of it...

    maybe he could have mounted the drives facing the lid? that way the drive could have been hidden until needed.

    shoot why not a lappy dvd-rom or cd-rw drive....Or a regular laptop cd drive....They can be picked up for ~$30, making it stay within his budget :naughty:

    edit: also couldn't you have the lid of the breadbox opening with the cd-rom that would look wicked :D

    From the thread title I was expecting a naff wooden breadbox, but that looks kinda neat.
