    Hey guys

I have had some problems recently with my codecs. Whenever I click on a video file in windows, Explorer starts taking 99% of my cpu ressources. The video image is also full of artefacts sometimes and some of them skip a lot. I know that codec packs are full of spyware and I don't want to try them. I am therefore waiting for codecs sugestions from you all

    thanks :)

I've always used K-lite codec pack and Media Player Classic. Been having a couple of troubles with Mpegs with MPC at the mo though.

VLC player never fails to play anything for me. It's the shiznit.

K-Lite is one of THE worst codec packs around. Do you really need 6 or 7 codecs that play DivX/XviD? NO. You only need one - ffdshow.

Get CCCP (which has ffdshow) and please never look at K-Lite again.

I personally just use ffdshow and AC3filter (just from their official sites) and haven't had a problem, however I'm usually a Divx/XviD user. Depends on what you watch, those two do me fine but perhaps if you have more variety CCCP will serve you better
