Always a fan of Anti-DRMers one of the reasons I bought the game and a few others from stardock.

I like that Imperium Galactica got a mention. I loved those games and it irked me when Sins got the credit for inventing the 4XRTS, good to know that the devs appreciate gaming history :D

Uh oh. Now I have to dig Imperium Galactica out of the closet and try and figure out a way to get it to run on my Vista machine. This is going to be tough.

Are they still selling DOS 5.0?

SoaSE is really an incredible game made by people who obviously know what it takes to create great games. I have a sneaking suspicion that Stardock and Iron Clad will be involved in even more amazing projects in the future (that hopefully will get more hype than terrible games - I'm looking at you, Haze). I feel bad for anyone in Europe who had to wait this long to get their hands on it. It's so good!

First I pirated the game, I played it quite a bit, then I bought it and haven't played it since. This article is making me bust it out again. I have to redownload it.

Or in the rare case that DosBox isn't good - Microsoft's free Virtual PC software :) It takes a bit more setup, but it works very well so far as I've experienced.

This interview made me download the demo but my PC keeps crashing when I try to run it. Bah :(

    It's not exactly ancient either - 1.86Ghz C2D, 2gb ram, 7800GT...

also chiming in and saying I first Pirated it with my roomate, then we both bought the game after finding out it had no DRM crap on it. Played a few games with him on lan, and now that im not living with him anymore havent touched it (hell my computer still isn't hooked up in my new place yet!)

I actually know quite a few people who pirated first, bought later because of its awesome quality.... keep up the good work!

Personally, I don't really bother to pirate computer games, I always feel that computer game developers get way too little from their games, and that by pirating them you are taking a significant chunk from their pockets. Now TV shows and movies are a different story, considering a lot of the CRAP that has been out on the big screen as of late (aside from Iron Man) TV shows too, the companies get so much cash money from ads, and Now i usually just watch TV shows via hulu. I can deal with 2 minutes of ads total per ~22 minutes of show.

    Hulu is the future!

Imperium Galactica was a great game, bought the sequel only the other day.

In fact it went even further than Sins and let you zoom right down to planet surface level as well as designing your own ships, so still yet to be beaten... *hint for expansion pack* ;)
