Had your staff meeting yet, Fev? Anything you can tell us without the Apple / O2 thought police coming over and roughing you up?

 

I live in prestbury, so just on the outskirts really, i go to the same college as you though i believe!

 

Today's the day...

Apparently other stores around the globe have been getting the mysterious brown carboard boxes from Apple - the ones with the 'Do not open til Monday' warnings on the label.

This is leading some people to speculate that there will be no launch today - the phone will be announced, but you won't be able to go and get one until some time in the near future.

 

open it, take photo's and get advertising from google so you can make a mint from the new iphone pictures.

 

wonder if this may coincide with the three days of mystery training i have at the end of the month

 

8gb will be $199 - just announced.

 

16GB $299 :O Still have to stick with o2 though

 

Hmm, thinking this may tempt me to switch to the iphone if 02 get their pricing in order. What do you think will happen with the classic "dollars to pounds" conversion that never seems to work out in our favor (apparently $199 means £199 to most businesses)

Steve did say a global MAX of $199 for the 8gig, wonder what 02 will do with that one...

 

europe pricing is apparently €99 for 8gb, so read into that what you will. or you could wait for o2 to update their freaking site.

 

Lets hope so. my contract runs out 17.08 so i can switch straight over to an iphone finally 3g

The 3G, GPS & 2.0 software (SUPER MONKEY BALL!!!) is fine by me.

It'll be ineresting to see if the rumours on flexible pricing are true - they mentioned in the keynote that it was up to $199 dollars, implying it's a maximum.

 

I got some info today saying that we'll be revealing pricing and tariffs tomorrow with the handset being available to buy from the 11th of July

 

At that sorta price I'll probably update to 16gig and donate my current 8gig one to a mate. Nice.

Wow, that's pretty cheap... Now everyone will have one... If it wasn't such a good piece of kit I'd get rid of it and be more original.

I better sell my old one quick before the general population discover how cheap they are going to be.

 

Wow. I thought it'd be around 129 if the US price was $199. Awesome stuff!

 

Damn, I might even be tempted to buy one myself now.

I'm waiting for the HTC Touch Pro and SE X1 to appear...must resist urge to buy iPhone though.

 

Lame. If you want to buy it, you have to go to a store, sign, pay, and activate contract and phone there and then. No going home and doing self-activation/unlock. Bah. Guess no iPhone for me. Oh well.
