i live fairly near nottingham (kettering - northants) so i might be able to get there! will be my first lan too. a few questions, what games will be played? i'm a quake3 player so if it's counter strike i wont even bother also when will this be? who's going? anyway, good luck with organising etc, it must be hard .. and maybe see u there
Well I am now thinking of organising a smaller one before then too maybe 30 people MAX just to get a feel for it and earn a bit of money to help pay for the big one.... I am now looking into the legal side of things... insurence, health and safety, fire safety... etc... If you know ANYTHING about organising this kind of thing or ANY event at all... beit a church faté I want to know the step I should take. Thanks.

Right being that you kind people will have to understand we HAVE to cover our overheads, how do you guys feel about: £30 with computer and gaming £10 spectator and half-price for the first 10 to confirm participation of the event? (half price offer applies to bit-tech admins and moderators) I am looking into sponsorship for the event so if you work for any size company and want to get your name in front of 100+ prospective customers and half price for up to 5 employees... drop us a line lorquislan.notts@lorquis.net

Well I live in carlton... but the venue is going to be *behind* the forum, the buiding is own by the school I think... looking into legalities and technicallities of renting the gym... yeah any help we can get would be appreciated... I will try and find a date soonish when the rest of the team is available.
£30 sounds fine I think... and I do understand about overheads. You need to get pimping this around irc a bit too, get some clans interested in it... you might get some sponsors then, especially if you drag some good clans along If you could find say 8 clans/teams with 5 players, you could have a tournament, that sort of thing would interest prospective sponsors in sponsoring you

Well if you stick to mainstream ones such as: Counter Strike Quake 3 Unreal Solider of fortune and maybe something like C & C you should be alright.
Red Faction - multiplayer is GREAT at Lan parties. We spent all night playing it last lan I went to. Toca 2 - Probably the best multiplayer driving game. Monster Trucks Madness - I don't actually like this, but it seems to go down well. Aliens Vs Predator?

meh. more people = more money = this sodding event will work without me having to get a loan! Plus I will probably roll in the money after the event and some news on the dates etc... it's pretty much confirmed but need to see about getting insurence etc... it's pretty much verbal at this stage.... more news as I get it

(top qualiteh stuff) c. i can get you a crew to make a video of the event if yah want (possible marketing for future events) plus my bro is chartered civil engineer, who is willing to help me out on the health and safety if need be. catering i could help you, i think all my relatives have takeaways (all indian tbh) its an asian thing to have all your rels owning takeaways, so if ya lot like indian plus i *could possible* know sum1 thats willing to spoonsor it. use teh msn to contact meh.
