He he... Yeah it sure smeels good. The wood i mean. Hope that the smell of wood in your mod will be a lot stronger than the smell of blood ;)

It is scary to see how the blade can come out of the bandsaw like that. The old open wheelers were real killers. My old boss lost a friend to one of those when he was young.

But keep up the good work, and try and keep your blood in your body. It should be healthy to live that way :p

Have subscribed to your log so i can follow you closely. But we just moved, so we havent got net at the new place yet. But should be online in a week, and im looking forward to see how you are doing :)

6.18.09:project Five Wood - last update

FiveWood is within 3 weeks of completion. After going through everything tonight in my shop, the end is certainly close-at-hand. Things are coming together fast now.

There will be no more updates. The next series of posts will be of the final photo shoot.

Thank you for all the support and props to keep the drive going.

I hope this one will knock your socks off.

    Project FiveWood Text Update

That's right, no pictures. I felt I needed to update the project since, for once, I have good news.

All is on schedule for an early July release! It's coming together nearly as planned. You'd be surprised how many little things are kicking my a$$ right now. These components are supposed to just snap together!! I have gotten the snap part down well. I actually snapped the right-side panel on and it snapped into three pieces. I am utilizing tension to hold the doweled components together. A little too much tension sometimes obviously.

There are, what are supposed to be, a few surprises coming as well.

Thanks for keeping up with it.

    Project Five Wood is complete!!

    The good news:

Project Five Wood is complete!! I finished the last of the build this afternoon. The system is together, boots and runs nice and cool. January 4, 2008 to July 4, 2008: 7 months

    The bad news:

No photos yet. I'll take the final photos later this weekend. I just had to shout it out. I've been fighting the desire to rush this one to completion, but I managed to take the final 3 weeks to give it what I needed to.

NOOOO Please do not use smoked plexi on the side window! I would not be able to bear not seeing into the case and getting to look at all of the amazing woodwork!

    Beautiful

We all know that wood is a better conductor of heat than alluminium or copper. Want proof? Try to set fire to copper or alloy, then try wood. The results will speak for them selves.

Those graphics cards look awesome, so does everything btw, even the nice round zalman copper cpu heatsink matches the wood beautifully :thumb:
