So far so good. The only add-on I used from 2 was Download Status Bar, which had an update and is working great. Seems a bit faster and no problems so far.
I preferred FF2. My extensions worked, I preferred the look. Sure the "Awesome bar" can be quite fun but it appears to have lost all of my recent history. It has also reverted back to an old version of my bookmarks (before I purged a lot of the old ones and before I added some new ones to my bar) so all in all not such a good experience. I am sure I will get used to it though but at the moment, life without Snaplinks and Tab Mix Plus is not good.
Didn't like it at first. Tweaked the address bar so it works like normal and now it's OK. Still think it's not really worthy of an extra version number, to be quite honest.
I have just noticed they have removed the feature where you could double click between two words and highlight then both. Noooooooooo!
FF3 opens folders of bookmarks beside my old tabs instead of steamrollering them like good old FF2. I've been through about:config and still can't find how to change it, any ideas? Edit: Never mind
i want my FF2 look back and what's the point of unsorted bookmarks if you only get to see it inside the organise bookmarks window? i want a folder in the bookmarks toolbar or in bookmarks menu of all my unsorted bookmarks. Tab Mix Plus is still there. SnapLinks and TryAgain are 2 addons i really miss...... hope they get updated soon.
It's okay, haven't really noticed any differences (now that I've got all my extensions back up and running). However, I was a bit annoyed that the go button disappears after the link is loaded. But I found a fix for that; http://nancib.wordpress.com/2008/03/04/regain-the-persistent-go-button-in-firefox-3/ I'm sure I would have got used to not having it, but why should I have to?
It's much fatser, the new dropdown with smartbookmarks is annoying as hell but quickly fixed with the oldbar extension.
I am surprised that I seem to be the only problem with bookmarks an dhistory. I must have done something without realising it but it has history/bookmarks for a few months ago, then there is a gap until yesterday. Weird.
I'm getting an error doing it the easy way; Code: Firefox could not install the file at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/downloads/file/28726/glasser-1.0.16-fx-win.xpi because: Invalid file hash (possible download corruption) -261 Doing it the hard way I get the glass outer frame, but every css section in the extras.zip gives me the same crap result. I'll have to find what's upsetting things.
Strange... Perhaps it conflicts with another add-on... As for the error, maybe you have a problem with your Ethernet connection, or it's a server problem with Mozilla... try again later, I guess. The "easy" way I mention, is exactly what I did, and I done it for friends too that asked me. I pretty much know it by heart.
I want my god damn Tabs at the bottom of FF3 !!!!!! I don't really like the History either but that's no big deal. I do have a problem with some websites with backgrounds though. Whenever I scroll the page it lags like hell. Google Map is also extremely slow when I move and even slower when I zoom. I have been using IE6 for google map recently... I don't think I am supposed to be doing that The most annoying thing IS the tabs on the top though
what do you mean ? what is this feature ? I didn't notice much of a difference with the address bad beside a new look
The address bar basically searches, by title and tags, your bookmarks so you can access them quickly. If you want to remember a page, click the wee star and it gets shoved in you unsorted bookmarks for later retrieval. et voila
i think its pretty awesome, its fast and the memory leak isn't bad anymore. and the address bar bookmark is pretty awesome
