The 80mm/92mm templates will come in very handy indeed... so thanks for those  :thumb:

I personally just use an old CD/DVD as a template for 120mm fans though

A purist will have different hole diameters for inlet and outlet positions to match the fan design. A really anal purist will shape and bevel the cut-out to continue the fan venturi profile - it adds several % to air flow and minimises noise. The holes recommended by Panaflo are several mm bigger than yours.

    80mm
    92mm
    120mm

Was your site always called that? I have been on that so many times before, that is where I got my knowledge of how to 5/7volt mod, though I don't remember it being called that.

But you are right your cut outs are much bigger.

I got my measures from papst. These measurements did work for me but there is always room for improvement.

Anybody got a quick way to scale fron A4 or A3 to something us Colonials use like 8.5 X 11 or 11 X 14 all in inches "naturally" :hehe:

I've also got some Papst figures for their DC axial fans, the hole diameters are shown as 90mm (80mm fan), 100mm (92mm fan) and 125mm (119mm fan). You're showing 77mm, 88mm and 115mm.

If you want, or can only make, a circular hole your smaller sizes are OK, but they will restrict flow.

    New version

So I made a new version with some "minor" :naughty: updates.

    us-letter format (pdf)

Use the red line for cutting for optimised airflow like cpemma said some posts before.

I hope this will satisfy everyone :D

Yes, that is because I used the diameters of the blades themselfs and not the funnel around them. This was because I needed the cutout in the front of a case and there a optimised hole would look somewhat ugly :cooldude: .
But as you can see I have improved the design and now both cuts are possible.

Now if somebody wants to chamfer the cut-outs then the airflow would further improve, turbulences would be lessened and the noise level should drop (in the best scenario).
