It could double as a weapon, and I still don't have the top capped.:worried:
-I went for the straight line. the exaust BARB will be sticking out at a wierd angle, but I don't care. The lines on the side were for lining up the bit. I eyeballed it.:eyebrow: I had to tilt the press platform too.
-Here's the 1/4" intake bored out to take a 1/4" NPT barb.
-I bored out the 3/4" plate with a 1/2" round mill bit.
    -MMMMMn Do-nut!
-Here I'm milling out a bowl in the top of the 1 1/4" part. I found it's easier to mill out a channel with a smaller mill bit, then round out the edges with the big bit. I'm still thinking up the design as I go along.:nono:
-The round bit pass. I had to go back and smooth out the edges. It looked too much like a nipple on the first go.
-I'm approaching serial killer status when it comes to pens. My light blue pen dried up, so I had to gut it to get any blue ink out of it. -Ghastly!
-Some of the solvent dripped into the bowls when I was gluing. It left a cloudy spot. I was hoping the blue would make little streaks inside.
-There goes my freshly vac'd floor. I was getting sick of working with 4 oddball edges. I milled them flat and square. I won't use this spiral technique again. It made a little chip at each corner of the mill passes. The other sides I did in streaks, so any chipping would be at the edges.
-I did a rough sand and polish for some reason. I'm going to chop a lot of this away in the future. You can see one of those chips right in the middle of the side.
-I'm thinking I'll cap the top with a bit of 1/2", then drill the intake in from the front. What do you think...potential disaster and internal chipping?

    :D

Wow, man. I think ya got it! I'd give her a try and see how much of a difference it made versus stock top. Like all of us, I'm curious what your results will be. Great job, bro!

    Ooh, looking good Cheapskate!

Drilling the intake in from the front doesn't seem like too bad of an idea. Although internal chipping could happen if your not careful.

Well done, Cheaps! This is cool. I don't do H2O, but I watch a lot. I like the handmade VS. "I just bought this" approach.
Well met young friend and keep dry!
If you could spare some of the incoming moisture, my town hasn't had a measurable rainfall in 2 months. Brown is our new city colors.

Thanks guys. I still have a lot to do to it.
@John - I -JUST- heard about the hurricane. Odds are we won't get a drop of rain again. I've made the joke that Moses lives in our neighborhood. Even when we were getting rain, it would part and go around us on the radar. Grass here is dead. I'm driving around today moving sprinklers. It looks like I will still have a bunch of dirt lots soon.

@Perkins - Please ignore any accidental subliminal messages. The recycle pile is directly behind me when I'm milling. :D

    Amazing

How is it that you don't own a cnc machine? You are "Da Mac", basically saying you're like Macguyver, the fictional character who used the best of what he had at his disposal, rudimentrily speaking. Keep up the good work.

    The res. Amazing work.

However, I did make a chiller out of an integrated watercooling kit... MacGyver is my hero. Him and Batman.

I'll post my little monster in a while, it's nothing special but it'll do wonders for nForce Pro MCPs..

Oh snap, that was a hint...

    Thanks.
MacGyver shows up in the next Batman movie, With Mr. T. (Well, Marvel would do it...)
Now get out of here! You have 2 casting logs I'm drooling over, and you haven't finished either of them.:hehe:

I'm currently sanding down a half day of milling. I almost have the pump top ready to test.

That pump addition you made is really cool, shows a lot of skill... don't want to sound like too much of a n00b, but what exactly does it do?

    If I may, Cheaps...

It enhances flowrate so the pump will push more water. Plus, it's just cool to do it! Why keep things stock, ya know? :D
