Took this in greece - it's semi appropriate to the theme.

That's a nice pic. How did it look in colour?

The B&W really emphasises the loneliness. Good choice. :D

not particularly good in colour. it's a lake and the water was a rather drab greenish brown.

am i the only one having problems posting to the potm site? edit: nvm, it's working now.

    Nice shot mate :thumb:
I think the only thing I could possibly nitpick would be the length of water at the bottom... but we're talking very little. The rest is beautifully composed, exposed and converted. You've got good foreground, middle and background, a line leading into the picture and three sharp interesting parts that all add to the whole.

    In short: :thumb:

Edit: I think perhaps "Calm" or "Solitude" would be more fitting for a title? I tend to understand "alone" in a more distressed way than the shot.

Love it, background is lovely. Only thing I find perturbing is how artificial the man in the boat looks. Contrast is very very sharp there, almost looks like a cut out!

Is that the natural exposure or did you bring it down a stop or maybe even two to get the silhouette of the man so dark?

not bad. oddly the silhouette looks a bit too crisp to me, almost like it's been drawn on as a vector! and agree with the water at the bottom being too long. a little more cropping ;)

yeah, i have since come to the conclusion that this image would be ideal as a square crop.
    thanks for the comments.
