Hey everyone, I've been slowly building an entertainment pc from the extra components I (and a few friends) have had lying around from upgrades, and it's almost complete, but it has no home. Is a "non-fugly micro atx case" only an illusion? I can't seem to find one thats even decently attractive looking. I want to get the thing up and running and I don't have time to build a custom cube for it. Don't get me wrong, I'm a basket-case modder like the rest of you...this baby WILL be hacked up a bit, but I need a decent case to begin with. In random internet travels, has anyone run across a decent looking micro atx case? If so, would you be kind enough to share the link? Cheers all.
it really depends on how much money you want to spend... as both lian li and coolermaster (I believe) have matx cases... Lian Li has the PC 30, 40 and 35... the pc30 and 40(I think it's 40) are both like the pc60 and pc70 only smaller... the pc35 is fugly.... the coolermaster desktop cases are matx i believe... and inwin creates some non-ugly ones as well... try Directron and the Lian Li's at directron as well
Hmm... The coolermaster one is quite lovely...I like that one but dislike the pricetag. Hmm, it would almost be tragic to chop that one up. The lian-li's are indeed nice but I've never liked how square they are...I've never been a fan of the squareness of lian-li's. The yeong yang is nice too. Where were these cases when I was looking myself? Thanks for the help guys, I'll grab one and post pics of its production. Cheers all.
Wait, come to think of it... Is there one made similar to the Coolermaster without being made of aluminum? It occured to me...it will be housing an AMD K6 350, so heat really isn't that much of an issue. Cheers all.
might be able to find a nice steel mATX desktop case, or maybe cram it all in an old vcr or reciever or something .... good reason to stick a vfd in it ...
these are the same cases the puter lab at school use ... http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProdu...287&manufactory=1316&DEPA=1&sortby=14&order=1 not bad looking actually
HEY! That AOpen one looks promising... Gonna see if we can get that in Canada! Perhaps a roof window would be appropriate... Cheers all!
Re: Hmm... Some of us would totally disagree with your statement http://www.modthebox.com/atc600.html
Well, you can't exactly purchase them PC-compatible, but here's my mATX case: Here's another promising mATX case (some assembly/modding required):
Look at the left on the first pic. It's an old Mac case sprayed black. From a 6100/60 series computer if I remember correctly.
*points to the little apple logo on the left side front* Its an old Apple 6100/60. Got it for free from a friend and saw a mod on KoreaMod.com. It took some modding and actually I'm still not done. Someday I will finish.
