What was the best ever mini game to be featured as part of a much bigger title? For me, the first thing that comes to mind is Blitzball in Final Fantasy X on the PS2... I probably spent more time chasing down the best players and pwning the other teams, than I did on the actual game... MGT
Oh yeah, Blitzball was really anticlimactic, we had this awesome into movie with it, and when we actually get to play it it's very slow. Still, I quite enjoyed it eventually. The card game in FF8 I quite enjoyed.
Oh yeah, forgot about the whole card thing... that was good. Agreed on the opening movie though, I've actually got that soundtrack in one of my regular playlists (and I'm the jackass that uploaded it to google video a couple years back so there was some vaguely simply way to grab it in an iPod-friendly format).
Chocobo Mating/Racing in FF7. Spent a long time doing that. I also gotta say monster catching w/stat maxing in FFX was really addicting. I have a file with over 160 hours on it.... Then another with close to 70, then any others with times from 20 to 40 hours.... Man I spent way too much time on that game.
Haha! Good choice actually! Although since it's a requirement to proceed through the game is it really a mini game? The mind boggles! I would say Mystical Ninja for the Snes, where you go on a gameshow and answer questions about the game in order to win $300. was a funny game led by a host called SHIMOPI!
Mario vs. Luigi in Mario Bros. 3 on the NES. But i understand that none of you mentioned it, you are discussing second place aren't ya?
Oh my God. Triple Triad, the card game from FFVIII. Why this was never produced IRL I'll never know. Best mini-game EVER.
