I love the weave of the thin rods.

Truly excellent work on the skeleton. I cannot wait to see the completed project. Not only will you have a very functional system, you will have a work of art.

This is, so far, one of the coolest cases I've seen in a while!! Really cool design!! 8D Gotta love that you've used papier mâché! Haven't done anything in papier mâché myself since kinder garden. =D
To be honest, I'm a little bit disappointed to see those beautiful thin rods being covered up, and find myself wishing you had used rice paper for a semi translucent shell instead.... oh well, I bet you'll make this look the bomb as well in the end.

Macros_the_Black, Thin rods were used exclusively as a reinforcing grid. A paper - a basis for a covering. It seemed to me it is in the best way. Though, it is probable - I sometime use also transparent acryle

It from the last project - so rivets are not used - gland in THIS case in general a little - a few bolts and a back wall for a MB

 

Mmm, ok. Just in case I wasn't clear enough about what I mean earlier, here's a few pics of rice paper lamps ->

I think your case would look soooo cool with lighting inside and rice paper on top, so you can see all of that of that reinforcing grid goodness! IMHO, it's a shame that your beautiful reinforcement grid is covered up completely.. you should show it off! =D

What about static electricity or grounding?

By making your PSU encasing out of wood + no metal connections to mainboard or anything, you're parts are going to store static like mad.
I've had lots of parts die from static (bad energetic hands) even when my metal case was plugged in ( faraday's box + grounding).

So I suggest you connect some copper wires to your standoffs and insert a small metal frame on inside of your outer shell. It is going to make life a lot easier for your hardware. Not to mention the fire hazard from your PSU when it isn't properly incased in metal.


Very nice design though! You could probably sell your plans to Alienware XD

 

I agree with biebiep about the wood power supply.

The design is nice. It flows with now sharp corners.
