Did you consider wrapping the metal corners in the carbon fiber? That could look totally sweet. Love the design so far, can't wait to see a build.

I'm hoping that the corners turn out OK or I will have to do something to hide the cuts. First option was the metal, now thinking of oak corner protectors.

Good designs, like them all. Go with what you like best. Don't know your skill level or tool access. Mitered corners would look great and not too difficult if you have access to a good tablesaw. Biscuit joints or dowels and you would have no need for brads and their little holes to be filled. Most lumber yards have thin oak veneer that can be ironed on and trimmed with razor to cover the plys in the windows and edges that show.

Bummer on the air condition. My Cherokee is low on freon now, o'well, gas too high anyway so I just ride my Goldwing a lot.

    Good luck with your project.

I know a friend who has lots of wood tools; Scroll, table, band, miter, router, drill press . Windows and acrylic I am getting laser cut.:D Natural color oak and black inside edges.

The car died on me last weekend because of the AC. Compressor locked up killing the engine I thought it was engine problems at first.

    The wood has been cut!!

It was cut for a 45* and did not split the wood to bad. There will be another week or so till another update.

Maybe it's just me, but looking at the sketchup drawings and the components you are going to put in the case, I just can't make out where the CAT is supposed to be mounted.. :eyebrow:

Well so far this scratch build is going now where fast.

So far it has looked like this for the last 5 months.

If anyone was thinking this was a good idea for a scratch build. Yes I still plan to work on building this. I'm just a little sidetracked with school in all.

Got to love all of those wires in the back.
