Looks good, although the numbering brings to mind the old Netburst days of the Presler core to be exact, would have figured Intel would not want to use similar naming schemes to the Pentium Ds. I personally have no use for this much CPU power, but I still find the technology to be pretty awesome.

Wow I wonder how well they are going to clock? I think in 2 years time whatever is awesome I will splash out on and that will be my first and last extravagant PC, I think after that I will keep it just adequate. Basically what I am trying to say is that I think I will miss out on the i7 procs.
I'm going to make a prediction. not that well. If the q6600 didn't overclock so well, i would of bought a more expensive one with a higher stock speed. That would of = more money in intel's pocket.
Difficult to make that kinda prediction... Anandtech's time with the 2.66Ghz Nehalem has shown that it's on average 30% faster *clock for clock* than Core 2 Quad. It's not all about the Mhz or Ghz, there's also processor efficiency, process (45nm) and of course the new integrated memory controller. It's a different architecture, on a new socket, coming out with a brand new chipset (X58) that hasn't been tested properly yet in triple channel DDR3. There are too many "if's" to make any judgment calls right now.
my prediction was based on what makes sense from a business point of view for intel. they could ship out cpu's that can be easily overclocked or they could lock them up so that if you want a faster cpu you have to spend the money.
