Yeah, that one may get lost in translation. Especially as they might like the "cute" English accent :p

We're not talking cosmopolitan people here, they're code monkeys. Some other department does the in-foreign bits.

The Firefox download page does have 'Deutsch' as well as 'German', 'Русский' as well as 'Russian', but guess which column comes first?

Basic rule, when abroad just speak louder.

If this is the worst thing that happens to him this year, he should consider himself lucky.

Look, its our language and if you don't start doing what we say then we're going home and taking our language with us *crosses arms and taps foot*

At least with them being different we get to keep our (entirely justified) sense of superiority.

Sorry, but it really isn't our language at all, and no, I really don't care about the odd spelling difference, but thanks for asking :p

Well as the country with the highest % of english speakers (according to the wiki you linked) I think we can claim it as our language . In all seriousness it is a mix of other languages (as are most languages) and as such doesn't really "belong" to any one country.

It's annoying but i can live with it.
It's more condescending. Especially when it details, in English, a foreign language and a country its spoken it.
French (France) - "je ne comprends pas"
Like its there if English speakers fancy a challenge.

This reminds me of a conversation we had here a few months ago about the fact that the states name themselves 'America' as if they owned the whole damn continent. Back then however no one seemed to agree with me ... But now that it's about them, most Brits are on the same side, are they ? :D

Doesn't it adjust for globe zones? Like US, EU, Aus, Asia etc. Not the type of English. Plus there is a difference between UK and US english, but it's more slang than proper english. Also it might adjust for measurements. Mile vs Meter.

canada's awesome. we can basically spell words however we feel, and if somebody complains we can just say "oh that's (alternate nation)'s spelling." and nobody seems to know which words are spelled differently in american english and english english, so we can use that excuse on almost any word we happen to misspell.
