Krikkit: yeah, that's my trusty T61 sitting pretty in its dock. I don't really allow my son in that room because of the potential damage he could cause, but he does like sitting on my lap holding on to my Guitar Hero III axe... :)

MS: How's it going buddy? Been a while... I've been keeping an eye on your copper project- looking awesome as always. We really have the same tastes, I tell you it's bizarre. First with BN and Fury (red and black V1000s), the IL tribute (remember that Chain of Mystery Sketchup mockup I posted), and I had tossed around the idea of copper and black before settling on this 343....

    Just for FrooP:

My Work Bench (note the backplate clamped down for cutting :dremel:):

I have a really small garage and it makes me mad that's all the room I can get without putting the car outside... :miffed:

    Fancy, huh?

And, one small update on the motherboard tray:

A little more filing on the ends and it should be good to go. :thumb:

    BlackWhizz: ?

If you mean why did I cut the motherboard tray, it's necessary if you're going to mount the tray horizontally as the drive bays get in the way.

Just another small "lunch time" modding update.

I'm a little weary of the metal work lately, so I decided to do something else today, and that was mount the top window.

If you recall, I had an etched window with HR Giger's "Spell" on it that was sitting around from an old build. Turns out that it fits the cutout in the 343B's roof perfectly.

In the photo booth it looked a little washed out with plain ol' white beneath it.

To make it look better in the pics, I stuck my Corepad underneath it.

Here's a close up of the etch.

    Another angle:

    Yet another angle:

    Close up angle:

Close up dead on (sorry for glare):

It should look nice with some LEDs too.

    That's all for now... :thumb:

They did the window on my BN machine.. They did nice work back in the day.. Has to be like two years since they went out of business..
    Show is more..:naughty:

Yep, you got it MS, good ol' Xport1. They did nice work. Too bad they couldnt keep it together. I dont think the etch could have gotten any tighter- just the aspect ratio of the painting wouldnt allow for it. If it had been any wider on the left and right, some would have gotten clipped off the top which would have been a :nono:.

    Jipa and yeknom: Thanks!

    Whowawuwa, damn frcking nice sidepanels.

Just a side-question: Why do you need 9 hard drives? Isnt it getting time for a small server?

This IS my small server :naughty:...

    And my gaming PC...

    And my main rig...

I've been trying to consolidate lately and am pretty much down to the one PC and no spare parts laying around (well, still have a few watercooling items in the closet, and the Asus P5K Deluxe Wifi I'm currently using will need to be sold once I move over to the Rampage Formula).

No huge updates for today. Did a little bit of work on the backplate at lunch. I was able to finish cutting the radiator hole and it's about 40-50% filed. Hope to have that filed and the mounting holes drilled by the end of the week.

Hey, just a small update to post.

I finished filing the radiator cutout in the backplate and got the mounting holes drilled for the radiator and bottom fans.

I also drilled out the fan holes in the AC Ryan RadGrillz to better accommodate the M4 bolts I have.

There may be clearance issues with the LL thumbscrews. If so I will probably end up replacing them with M3 hex head socket cap screws.

More to come soon (maybe tomorrow? I hope.).
