300 was an "OK" movie at best... Shallow, no historic value... But good as a comics adaptation.

If you want a history lesson, don't watch 300, if you want a film adaptation of a graphic novel loosely based on a historical event then you might enjoy 300 - I did. Frank Millar himself said that the graphic novel was based on his impressions and recollections of the story as a result of watching the 1962 film 300 Spartans which didn't even feature a mountain pass and the Spartans wore old Roman armour. Doesn't sound too much like the basis of historical accuracy so I think is a bit unfair to criticise 300 for not being realistic.

You got a point in there. But the main problem with the movie is that it is shallow and boring.. thats all. But again the comic book is shallow as well.

I loved 300, it was one of the most stylish movies that I've seen, and the fight scenes were intense.. I loved the art style.

It's not even trying to be historically accurate, don't know what everyone is complaining about.

I like 300 just like I love Speed Racer.

This was a Good movie IMHO .. I only wish the score had more heavy metal and less "Gladiator-style" music :) .. I'll also add that I was surprised on how many things *were* actually somewhat accurate historically from the film... I was expecting hollywood would through out history completely.

I couldn't stand the 300 graphic novel, was an absolute mess of poorly drawn blood-spattered fight scenes interspersed with Frank Miller's usual long-winded drivel. The movie, on the other hand, had me leaving the theater with the intense desire to hunt down a wild animal and kill it with my bare hands. Good stuff. As for the vaunted "historical accuracy", virtually our entire account of the battle comes from the Greek historian Herodotus, who has long been suspected of severely overestimating the disparity in forces. Since history is written by the victors, he's not exactly the most objective source. Sure, Miller's version is obviously the stuff of fantasy, but it's a stretch to call any one version the definitive history of the event.

guys u forget this is the same man working on The Watcher which looks freaking amazing, cant wait for that movie.... Anyhow I think this could be very interesting and the whole slow mo stuff could use a bit of work so maybe this could be a good thing. :)

maybe u should listen to both soundtracks again and then if u dare to make the same statement i'll personally chop ur head of:p:)
noseriously the 2 soundtracks are by no means related. 300 is a far cry from the gladiator score which at it's most intense scenes doesn't get anywhere near the grimm scala of sounds that is 300.
i liked both the movie and the soundtrack.it was somewhat historical but u wathc 300 for what it is not if u want a history lesson.

Great movie great style, and it was close enough to accuracy as to not distract you. Im looking at you 10,000 bc with your tweezed eyebrows, horses and iron swords.... wtf. His creativity is perfect for games and the 300 film I think gave people an accurate feeling of what it would of felt like for the 300 not what really happened but it conveyed the fear and adrenaline.
