hi ive been playing a lot of BF2, starcraft, CS:S, and C&C Generals lately, ive just been getting tired of multiplayer games and i would like to play a good single player experience. are there any old gems to look at or should i wait for new games to be coming? i have a ps2 (i can use the ps3 my brother has) and a pc with a x1950xt, so i can play most games. most recently i have played through World in Conflict, Bioshock, Shadow of the Colossus, and Disgaea and they were great. hit anything my way, i was thinking of Viewtiful Joe (recommendation from a friend), but just give me some good games to look for. thanks a lot frankieg33
any type of game you are looking for? I just picked up the enhanced edition of the witcher and am enjoying it.
ive played a little of half life (couldnt get into it after HL2) and i played a bit of both god of wars (my brother wound up playing through the game from my saves). but i could go back and try god of war 2, i remember where i was it was starting to get really good. dont know why i stopped. it is going to take me a while to get the game so for now im going to try out the witcher demo. it looks good. my only fear is i used to play a lot of diablo 2 so i am used to the grundy atmosphere and simple interface and literal skill tree. and i liked games like that more for the anytime online mulitplayer. but hopefully i can get passed it. (i couldnt for sacred 2). im not really sure what im looking for... just a good solo play through. something fun. fps, rts, rpg, doesnt really matter. no 1v1 fighting or racing games. (or sports, unless there is something there to change my mind) but any other suggestions are more than welcome
I really enjoyed rock band and guitar hero series, always entertaining solo (online bands, vs battles) or with friends.
how do those play? is it point and click and read the text or what? kind of like sam & max? and what about the prequel to the longest journey?
While Beyond Good & Evil is an adventure game with pacey action elements and plays much the same way as the Star Wars Jedi Knight games, Dreamfall is a more traditional adventure game driven by character interaction and cutscenes. Both have fantastic writing.
You tried Mass Effect for PC? As far as single player experiences of recent times it's right up there imo.
Diablo and Diablo 2 for the pc are some of the 2 greatest games for the pc if you haven't played them yet. I reccomend getting the battlechest for about 40$ Its really a great game.
yea ive played diablo 2 alot. i found D2 to be a lot better online, level grinding wasnt terrible if you were helped out along the way and it was really simple. right now (waiting for D3) i am looking for a funsingle player experience
Well in that case heres a few games you can play that I still enjoy Risk : The game of Global Domination This would occupy me for hours but is very hard to find... Rome: Total War The total war series is when you take controll of a country and your job is to take over the entire map by building up cities, building vast armies and actually being able to controll them. It takes a lot of skill to win battles and the battles are very realistic as in you need to come up with a strategy in order to beat your enemy. Sid Mierers(or somthing like dat) Gettysburg: I played this game a long long time ago and it was one of my favorites although i could never find it again. Roller Coaster Tycoon: Build a theme park and controll how much everything coasts...build custom coasters and rides and hire some employees and manage your park to the top. I will post more if you dont like any of these
Try Half Life again tbh, it's such a good storyline, and even the expansions are pretty bloody good too.
RTS (real time strategy) games are always fun... Examples: Civilizations series, warcraft 3, starcraft, warhammer 40k, red alert, etc. etc. I always enjoyed playing warcraft 3 when my internet was down. You can play the story, or you can just do regular games without any scenarios.
