I need some opinions on these two images 1. Which arrangement is better 2. Which color temperature looks better Thanks guys!
Second is really good, i like the more warm colour temp. I probaly prefer the composition in the first image though.
second image is my pict for both color and composition. I like the space between the chairs, but I wouldn't have cropped the second one like you did. either more or not at all.
colour temp in 1 looks better, arrangement in 2 looks better. Colour temp in one because it looks more industrial and suits the minimalist thing you seem to be going for. Shot 2 because it has more depth.
#2 both the color and the composition. the warmer color gives it more depth and the space between the chairs gives it more space perspective
JJ #3 Particularly the crop. It's fine if that second chair is CLOSE to the left edge, but there should really be some white on the edge and the chair has no reason to be cut off. So it just feels...odd. The angles are much better though and the browns in the chairs really come out with the warmer lighting.
What I was just about to write If you want to keep the crop try turning the chair to different degrees until the optical/viewed lines compliment the crop. Right now it looks accidental and not like a purposeful placement.
First for color temp, but second composition. I don't like the yellow/gold highlights on the chrome on the chairs, though. It's needed to give the picture some contrast, but i think it's a tiny bit to strong.
Ditto. I only really care for the color temp of #2 when your subjects are human, I've never found it to work well for still objects.
Thanks for the input guys! I like the new arrangement much better. Just didn't know what was wrong with the original two, but you guys pointed it out with the cropping thing.
Love the new composition, though it's still too warm for my taste. Actually, the shadows cast by the light coming in high camera left seem a little unnatural now that I take a second glance. What environment are you shooting this in? White seamless?
There are 3 lights used in the scene. One to the left and one to the right perpendicular for fill light then a light 30 degrees from perpendicular to the foreground chair. So that's why the shadow on the background chair looks different. Digital environment. These aren't photos (I use the term images for my digital creation work). I do have a white drop cloth that I could use for these purposes but its not as wide as what was needed in the rendering. Perhaps this looks more like a rendering? I don't have any qualms on composition for this one, but C&C are welcomed.
I realized that these were renders from the start, but I also wanted to know what program was used. I have not been using 3DSMax lately, but knowing a bit about it, you've done some amazing work with it. Especially the last one you sent is amazing, though that one branch is coming trough the pot Great work, would love to see more. Darkened
