i'm trying to run firefox from the tar, but it's complaining about missing libraries. does anybody know where i can find copies of libjemalloc.so and libpangocairo.so? google is surprisingly unhelpful. and if i find copies, can i just put them in ~/firefox to get firefox to find them?

it is just too old, retrun to an older version of firefox. 9.3 was comming with gcc 3.4 if I remember, so it is probably not even binary compatible.

Can’t you tell yum to install it in your user directory?

Wasn't there a portable version of firefox which ran from a usb stick? I don't know if there was a Linux version though.

Of course that relies on you having access to mount a drive.

Does the machine have a cd or dvd drive?
if so try a live distro.

You could compile it statically on another machine.
