I think it really says it all where there are still every day, average, white people in America, who use the 'N' word to describe people like Obama - see the YouTube video of the Palin rally.
There are people (actually of all races) in the UK that offer the same "affection" to immigrants for the last ~50 years. Pakistani's/Indian/African/Eastern European etc
This has been going on for months, it's only now that the mainstream media have picked up on it. Oddly out the two candidates it's McCain that wasn't actually born on US soil.
The thing i find annoying atm, todo with the US elections media coverage in NZ, is that it gets more airtime then our own elections which happen next month.
QFT (and I beg your pardon for the editing - I think the idea is still clear) Why must the masses be so stupid, anyways?
It's sad really. They pay people to dig up the most pointless dirt on the other candidate. It's really hard to see through it but I guess it's all part of it.
My point was, this person actually shouts it out at a televised political rally - you wouldn't get a lot of Joe Bloggs, average Brits who are so comfortable to publicly display such racial hatred, and seemingly avoid criticism from those around them. Having said that, we're no less institutionally racist than the US, possibly more so, considering the lack of non-white faces in parliament.
pretty much in the same place as its always been, accounting for tectonic plate movement. another thing that wont exist if mccain gets in :/ family guy Cheesecake btw
Uh, no. Checking that someone fulfills the legal requirements for being a US president is completely legitimate. You have to be a naturally-born US citizen at least 35 years of age that has maintained US citizenship for the past 7 (I think, might be 14; may also be exclusive citizenship) years. The fact that a bunch of idiots/racists/bigots/nutjobs are going around spreading BS is an entirely separate issue.
*spews coffee over the keyboard* Am I the only person who thinks that might be a better test of leadership ability than what we've currently got going? Consider how much difference advertising makes. Consider that Obama's spent about double what McCain has. I'm surprised he's not further in the lead. That, and people editing Palin into porn. We might be ready for *insert mildly surprising statement here* as a culture, but there will always be people on the slow end of the bell curve.
To be honest from what I've seen of McCain he wouldn't make that good a leader anyway but to give him his due he does make some blinding chips
Polish people are more fun, in my experience, than the Pakistani's I've encountered in my time. Nothing like a lock in with a Polish group. Al Gore IS George Jetson.
I found it funny near the end of the video where he said Obama was hiding behind technicalities which he had every legal right to yet the US public deserve to know the facts; however, the whole video is arguably insisting we ignore the US public's right to the more suitable president and instead focus on the legal technicalities which make no real difference.
Plus mccain was under the control of an asian dictatorship for many years. Manchurian candidate anyone? There needs to be a bigger investigation into whether Mccain is actually an american or a semi-humanoid brainwashed agent of the Vietcong. This is serious!
This would work so much better than the current system that I have a hard time laughing at it. It actually makes me kinda sad.
Of course! Only a spaceman from the future could have... invented the Internet! (laugh style=ROFL)(/laugh)
