...and...(checks meter one more time, just to make sure)...yes...this thread has finally been derailed. I'm shocked it's taken this long, tbh.
I think it's all been blown out of all proportion. Two complaints about the language from people who actually listened to the show and a couple of thousand complaints from people who heard quotes and misquotes in the papers. If the papers didn't pick up on it, it wouldn't have gone any further.
i couldnt really care less about this tbh i have to say the disapproving ITV report made me laugh a lot tho, the presenters looked like they'd just been telling off a wayward child
Wait, a mo... Am I right in thinking we all dudes? (I hijack this thread in the name of Exeter, Huzzah!)
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7700816.stm Ow god 3 months with no pay, how will he feed his children!?!?
In my opinion, the real bad joke is that this utter **** earns 100 times what a decent surgeon earns.
Extended extended quote fail (er... I mean success, huzzah!) The real crazy thing is that this is still headline news People will always get paid roughly what they are worth in terms of the money they make for the people who pay them, or in BBC terms, the money they need to pay in order to get ratings to justify their funding and avoid popular people being lured away by commercial television. I think the fact that the BBC is pandering to the Daily Mail inspired "appalled masses" is rather disgusting, and if I was Jonathan Ross I'd tell the BBC where they can shove it and go to channel 4. Does anyone think that the new (ish) Princesshay development is actually a bit disappointing? (I've stopped going in the Apple store since the put bouncers on the door )
Princesshay sucks, shops are all too expensive. I tend to stay on Sidwell St. and the High street (Tesco's and Iceland!).
Way blown out of proportion, bet many of the people who complained didn't even hear it the first time and probably saw the headlines and then saw it. Also the bbc will never fire ross due to the fact that hes got one of the best shows on bbc and that he can easily go to other channels i.e itv. Another thing, if the show was pre-recorded (2 days before) why the hell didn't they cut or censor it out if bbc felt it was too rude etc.....
Pretty much summed up in one. On subject, I am ****ing pissed off about Ross, he won't be on TV until January, what the ****? He makes the BBC decent, and yeah I totally agree, if C4 approached him with the same pay or higher, he should take it, not only would the BBC lose 10 million or so viewers on a Friday night, but they would be pretty embarrassed for the rest of their days. Friday nights in are with Jonathan Ross, not Channel 4 or Sky One, and quite frankly, because of 40,000 ignorant idiots, 10 or so million people now have to suffer because of it. Protest at the BBC HQ anyone?
