You made a competition winning r/c hovercraft, and then you took it apart to ponder what to do with the fan? You don't want to destroy the fan because you like it too much? Damn, didn't you like the hovercraft? I think you've committed some sort of crime against modding. I say put the beast back together, apologize to her, and pop her in a display case when you aren't playing with it.
+1. Really handy if you have animals in your house. Otherwise, make it a fan for a few rads in a mega watercooling setup, just put a variable resistor in there. Cheap, a hamster grinder? Jesus man, I never would've thought in a million years to use it for that lol. It really would be funny to have a wind tunnel for a hamster though. Toss it in and see what happens
Ping pong ball launcher. Every time I visit, something else pops into my head. What happened to Jaguar? I fear he's left us to bury his hamster...
BRILLIANT! thanks for the ideas guys and sorry i've been away this last week so not been able to reply untill now. I'm liking some of these ideas and if i had a hamster it might be gooie and red by now so lucky for all the hamsters out there. The original hovercraft was made in 2003 as a kind of challenge between me and a mate. to have a 'strong' lightweight base i used a compressed polystyrene bodyboard and i used a 12v drill battery to power the thing. yes i won and was proud but the bodyboard ended up breaking due to an accident and as the friendly challenge had been won i never got around to rebuilding it. Keep the ideas coming!
I had one of these mounted to the top of my case, running at 5v. Use it... and switch it up to 12v (or more ) at LANs and watch all the faces stare in your direction.
