    Hello, Bit-Tech! :naughty:

By the long time I planing to get the htpc, but I don't do it.The reason was, some of them were to expensive and too awful looking to buy it. That change now, why? Because lovely ( :D ) Intel make the Atom boards.
I decide to make my own htpc using that motherboard:

    Hah! That's small :D
But yeah, I have small mobo but what with psu? I didn't want to usethe pico psu, so I start looked and searched for really small atx power supply. I find that:

It is 77x101x125 millimeters. Nice, but look at this:

    This is not nice :eyebrow:
So I marked every cable and start disassembling the 20pin connector:

It was hard, my fingers aches as hell! But I'm The MAN, I done this :D :naughty:

    And next:

    Not bad (?) :worried:

After that I take 2 laptop drives and make 1 dvd htpc drive, how? Ow it's simple one drive was damaged but it had the IDE connector and the other was working but without IDE :hip:

Then I can't stand waiting and I run the Atom PC
    It's working sweet

Yea, now something concrete. The aluminum profiles witch i use to build the case:

It's to long so i cut it...

    ... and filed

Those numbers inform how to put it together:

Also I bend some hdd holder:

Oh and the last thing, some alu profiles put together and almost finish hdd holder:

Ps. I almost forgot, here are my skeches of this project

I am just about to start a HTPC project using a dual core atom. Looking forward to seeing this finished.

I am glad to see more mini-ITX projects. For a long time I thought I was the only one to use them. I found a 275W external PSU that already had a SATA connector I needed. I like your sleeving .
    Subed.

Ow, sorry :duh: I'm still looking for small, and good graphic card to this...

    And now, The Update

I put all alu profiles together

    It is quite heavy

    Now, compare with the mobo

Damn, That case is to big for the atom board :eyebrow:
    Watercoolig?
What do you think about that?
    :D

    Watercooling? For an Atom?

The CPU doesn't run hot enough. You could get away with passive cooling, which is ideal for a HTPC. You'll almost certainly need a decent graphic card, but don't exceed 50W.

There's Nexxo - always the practical one.
    /begin sarcasm
H2O cool an Atom - why that would be like H2O cooling any mini-ITX or forbid we say it a nano-itx or pico-itx. Not practical. Insane idea. Totally without merit. Won't happen!
    /end sarcasm

CPU not hot enough, but chipset is freaking hot! So I must to find good cooling for that

Yeah, yeah I know that. Do you know some good model of gpu for me?

    The chipset is 21W.

Gfx: For sub 50W AND PCI.. dunno tbh, very few make them these days. Something low end with PureVideo or UVD should do you.

    Changes, changes...

    Hi, I'm still here. :cooldude:

So no I get few free minutes to show you the progress of my modification. It has definitely change.

So (starting from old photos) I painted the profiles:

But after painting I had realised that colour looks wired :eyebrow:
    I change it, to black

And after that's my girlfriend sad that "cube box look very common and it's not nice :nono:"
We talk about it and she give me a pic as inspiration to new case. It was this one :

So I make a project (it's really simple)

I decide - "materials which I use is plexi"

So I get looong shopping day :naughty:

I buy this to cut all of plexi

Using my jigsaw I cut those ones:

After that I take my hand saw and cut aluminium C-profiles

Next I measure all to fit it together

Then I had take the plexi and go to friend who had CNC :D

    He engraved this

    now better?

    And actual shape of "case"

    See any thing? No? Now?

Next update soon as possible, but now I must learn to important exams :D

Nice work. I liked the metal work for the HDD holder.
I do like the second idea better. I'm always a fan of plexiglass and cool engraving/lighting effects! :D

I drilled the holes for the pipes (that's much more smaller but still nice)

    aluminium corners

    Prepared for drilling
