New to this forum so I don't know if it's the done thing to offer suggestions, but.....

How about slotting the feet from top to bottom so that the aluminium support can "disappear" into it?

Sorry if thats unclear, I havent got any drawing s/w to make a picture

    Welcome Acolyte.

Suggestions are nearly always welcome. Most people even ask for them during the design/building process.

As for drawing software google sketchup is normally the software of choice and its free.

As for your design do you mean something like this. They are a bit rough, i'm learning to use sketchup
    .

Man, those case feet fit soooo well. Reminds me of high-end stereo equipment from yester-year. Beautiful!

    Yes suggestions are most welcome.
That idea is very cool but can't be used in this case. As you will soon see
the pads will be adjustable for height with a thread tapped into the pad
and the support. When complete the pads won't touch the supports. ;)

Glad you like em EEL. Thanks. :thumb::dremel:

I think we can declare Oct's MoTM already lol. Most comfortable seat ever for oldnewby. Btw, thanks for the tips. Finally pull the jig out and finished one of the cuts in under 2 hours compared to the slow dremel. Tho it did some auto-bending on the 3mm alu but a little slow hammering got it back to shape. :p

Glad I could be of some help. :thumb::dremel:

    Thank you jegerjon. :)

Finished the front pads and supports.

    And made the rear support.

And this is the first time I can have a look at the chassis with all four pads.

    I can't say I'm happy with this.

The rear pads are the same distance apart as the front. But that little bevel sits under
the back plate and looks untidy, so I'll look at it a bit more and see what can be done.
I may have to make another support a bit wider than this one.

Nice work on the feet. Remove that overhang on the rear feet and it will be perfect.

I've been up a couple times for mod of the month. There are NO losers - just people who got some small recognition of all the time we spend doing this. You did well. To even be chosen is WAY cool.

    Thanks very much guy's. :clap::clap::clap:

I made another rear support larger than the first one so the bevels now
    extend beyond the back plate.

So that's it! All the parts for the chassis are made.

The back looks much better now. (imo).

So now the chassis will be stripped down and all the parts sanded down to remove all
scratches and scuffs, corners rounded off, and a general clean up.
Then work starts on the body.
